  • Publication number: 20240115390
Abstract: Provided herein are biomimetic osteochondral implants that are generally useful for the at least partial resurfacing of damaged cartilage within a joint. The implants are constructed to have a modular, layered structure in which the physical properties (e.g., stiffness and lubricity) or dimensions of each layer can be adjusted (e.g., by using the appropriate material and controlling the thickness thereof) based on the anatomy to be replaced. For example, the material and or thicknesses of the layers can be selected to approximate the physical properties and/or dimensions of cartilage (and, optionally, chondral and subchondral bone). Also provided herein are methods of treatment involving the use of said biomimetic osteochondral implants to repair an osteochondral defect in a joint.

  • Patent number: 11936415
Abstract: An air interface plane (AIP) of a radio frequency (RF) aperture includes: a circuit board having a first side and a second side opposite the first side; and a matrix of tapered elements arranged on the first side of the circuit board and secured to the circuit board, the matrix of tapered elements cooperating to at least one of receive or transmit an over-the-air RF signal. Suitably, each tapered element of the matrix has: a central hub extending along a longitudinal axis from a hub base which is proximate to the first side of the circuit board to an apex of the tapered element which is distal from the first side of the first circuit board; and a plurality of arms extending from the central hub at the apex of the tapered element, each of the plurality of arms including a first portion that projects the arm radially away from the longitudinal axis and a second portion that projects the arm longitudinally toward the first side of the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4719462
Abstract: According with the present disclosure to provide a suitable protective headgear for the sports vehicle operator/motorcyclist that incorporates internal radar detection electronics capable of detecting X and K band radar signals as well as any future bands that may be used. To provide both audio and visual alarm signals that will allow the operator to adjust speed accordingly to avoid violations. To provide the light panel display in the vision proximity of wearer so that the operator never has to look away from their immediate trajectory. To provide ventilation for both the wearer and the electronics inclosed therewith that would compensate for any additional heat caused by the electronic circuitry. Helmets would be sized to fit different size heads with a comfortable snug fit.

  • Patent number: 4634115
Abstract: An arm wrestling and curling exercise apparatus comprises a rectangular frame having oppositely disposed side walls joined by end walls. The apparatus further comprises a handle assembly having a pivotally mounted T-shaped handle support member comprising a horizontally aligned pivot shaft carrying a lever arm extending perpendicularly therefrom for the purpose of mounting the handle support member. The pivot shaft carries a pair of sleeve members mounted on either side of the lever arm. Each of the sleeve members carries a downwardly extending cable post. The lever arm is slidably receptive of a cylindrical housing member which passes over the upper cap bushing, the spring biasing means and the slidable bushing to be threadably received by the lower cap nut. The lever arm is also provided with a grip member which is releasably secured to the cylindrical housing.
