  • Patent number: 7165097
Abstract: On a computer cluster, a distributed object, called a console, manages all interactions with users and manages error reporting. The console provides a simple synchronous call interface that does not use any network semantics. This allows all layers of the software to use the console. User interaction and error reporting is enhanced by an error stack, included in the console. The error stack can be maintained on a per client context basis. When an error occurs, each layer of software can add details to the error stack. The result is the relaying meaningful error messages to the user.

  • Patent number: 5222701
Abstract: This invention provides a support that may be used to hold articles and which may be removably attached to a base that is mounted on a wall. The device has two main parts (1) a base that may be mounted on a wall and (2) a plug-in device that may be inserted into or removed from the base. The base defines a cavity for receiving one end of the plug-in device. One wall of the cavity is a resilient arm the free end of which enters an indent in the plug-in device to provide some impedance to the removal of the plug-in device from the cavity. A cam or wedge may be used to firmly secure the arm in the indent and thus secure the plug-in device in the cavity. The plug-in device has two free ends each with a socket. A resilient cord, with spaced enlargements, extends between the free ends of the plug-in device and holds an article, such as a coil of wire or a broom handle, against the plug-in device.

  • Patent number: 5093964
Abstract: A clip is provided for holding an elongated flexible element. A typical elongated flexible element is an electrical power cord. The clip has a body member having two parallel projections. The power cord may be inserted in the slit between the projections. A power cord in the slit is pinched between the projections. The body member has sockets near each of its ends and a beaded cord has enlargements that fit in the sockets, respectively. The beaded cord can be stretched as it encircles a bundle of wire. When the enlargements on the beaded cord are inserted in the sockets the bundle of wire is held in place.

  • Patent number: 5062184
Abstract: A clip for holding elongated devices such as wire, rope, tools such as screwdrivers, is provided. The clip is in two pieces. One piece is a flexible elastic elongated member with a series of spaced-apart beads near one end. The other piece is a molded plastic device having a base that has provision for attaching the base to a wall, post or pipe. Four side walls project from the base. Two opposed side walls have V-shaped cavities in them for receiving the elongated device. The beaded elongated member extends between the other two walls. The spaced beads enable the elongated member to be placed under tension as it crosses over the elongated device. The elongated member presses the elongated device toward the base and toward the walls of the V-shaped cavities. Thus the elongated device is held firmly in the clip.
