  • Patent number: 7726658
Abstract: A driven seal assembly is provided for a shaft rotated by a motor disposed in a motor housing and having a seal housing adjacent to the motor housing through which the shaft extends. A first rotary seal is frictionally fit on the shaft adjacent the first stationary seal seat. A second rotary seal is frictionally fit on the shaft adjacent a second stationary seal seat. A spring surrounds the shaft and provides bi-directional axial forces on the first and second rotary seals against the first and second stationary seal seats. A positive drive mechanism is mounted on the shaft between the first and second rotary seals in a driving, mating relationship therewith and includes a first driving element in driving engagement with the first rotary seal and a second driving element in driving engagement with the second rotary seal.

  • Patent number: 6805299
Abstract: A fountain aerator for propelling and aerating water includes a float having a flow tube extending therethrough for suspending the aerator in a body of water. A motor base assembly contains a motor provided with a rotatable output shaft. An open ended housing is spaced from the float and connected between the flow tube and the motor base assembly. A wear ring is secured within the housing and defines a central opening therein. A covered impeller is retained in the housing in spaced relationship with the float and is coupled to the motor output shaft for rotation therewith. The impeller has a series of radially extending blades which define a series of outlet passages in communication with the inlet. A flow straightener is spaced from the float and fixed to the housing in overlying, surrounding relationship with the impeller.

  • Patent number: 6179228
Abstract: A water fountain spray modifier for use in combination with a pond aerator to modify the water fountain spray pattern generated by the pond aerator. The water fountain spray modifier includes a support arm pivotally mounted between a pair of brackets mounted to the pond aerator. The support arm includes a spray diffuser formed on its first end and is movable between an operative position and an inoperative position. When the support arm is in the operative position, the spray diffuser is generally aligned with the outlet opening of the pond aerator such that the spray diffuser reduces the height of the water fountain produced by the pond aerator. The water fountain spray modifier includes a locking mechanism that secures the support arm and attached spray diffuser in either the operative position or the inoperative position. The locking mechanism includes a plunger movable between a retracted position and an extended position.
