    Abstract: Digital signal processing apparatus which can be tested by signature analysis is arranged so that a predetermined number of its ROM locations have stored therein pre-selected values whereby the signature analysis is independent of the contents of the remainder of the memory location. Appropriately valued bytes are stored in the N last-record memory location and these bytes establish a predetermined signature for each data pin regardless of firmware changes.
