  • Patent number: 7809454
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing production of a composite part. A three dimensional digital part definition is received for the composite part. A plurality of layers for the composite part is generated using the digital part definition with respect to a set of performance variables for an automated material placement system. A time needed to form the plurality of layers for the composite part to form a result and a cost ratio of production rate are identified. Production of the composite part is managed using the result.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 17, 2007
Date of Patent: October 5, 2010
    Assignee: The Boeing Company

  • Patent number: 7058041
Abstract: A method for control of packet data transmissions in a TDMA wireless network to provide for additional choices in the allocation of communication channels. The fixed relationship in the timing of the downlink allocation signalling and subsequent uplink transmission is altered for certain classes of mobile station to avoid physical constraints. Examples of variations in USF signalling in GPRS are given.

  • Patent number: 7020105
Abstract: A method for control of packet data transmissions in a TDMA wireless network to provide for additional choices in the allocation of communication channels. Measurement and recovery periods are re-assigned to avoid conflicts in operating conditions. The re-assignments for the GPRS system may be reduced to a simple formula.

  • Patent number: 6321079
Abstract: Network operator controlled locking and unlocking mechanism for mobile telephones is disclosed. A method and means for enabling the locking of a mobile telephone to a specified network by the network operator. Locking may be implemented at the point of sale of the mobile telephone. A secret number is embedded in the mobile telephone through the SIM (subscriber identity module) interface in the locking process and the secret number is used subsequently in combination with a random number to allow network unlock. The secret numbers may be indexed and administered in relation to the SIM rather than the mobile telephone.

  • Patent number: 6253073
Abstract: A mobile telephone hand set programmed to operate under the control of a CPU and protected against unauthorized use or cloning by means of a security engine. The security engine comprising a re-programmable write only memory, an interface register and a challenge timer and operating by the issue of a challenge from the challenge timer to the CPU, the CPU on receipt of the challenge responding by writing a value to the interface register for comparison therein with a value stored in the re-programmable write only memory, and the interface register signaling the result of the comparison.
