  • Publication number: 20080116589
Abstract: An integrated voltage regulator may be provided on the bottom of a ball grid array processor package. This may be done despite the fact that conventionally integrated voltage regulator chips are too thick to fit in the area normally available between the motherboard and the ball grid array package because that area is defined by solder balls of a necessarily limited height which is conventionally believed to be too small to accommodate the integrated voltage regulator.

  • Patent number: 6901123
Abstract: A multi-panel phased array antenna architecture and signal processing subsystem combines baseband outputs of multiple carrier demodulators associated with respective phased array panels prior to bit-decision processing at baseband for data and clock recovery. The baseband bit decisions are fed back to control the operation of the carrier recovery loops of the demodulators. This improves the signal-to-noise ratio in the carrier recovery loops and allows near theoretical system operation at lower signal-to-noise ratios than would otherwise be achievable.

  • Publication number: 20050026563
Abstract: An apparatus and associated methods to provide precision ranging measurements in an ultrawideband (UWB) wireless communication system are generally described. In this regard, according to one example embodiment, an innovative ranging agent is introduced that effectively computes one or more of the time of signal propagation, the difference in local clocks and frequency offsets to calculate an increasingly accurate estimate of the proximal distance between two or more devices in UWB communication.

  • Publication number: 20040170799
Abstract: The invention relates to a heat-insulating material acceptable for use, such as a bed blanket. The heat-insulating material has a reinforcing layer, a base layer bonded to the reinforcing layer, and flock fibers secured to the exposed surface of the base layer through a discontinuous coating of cured adhesive. The base layer can have a thickness of less than 0.0625 inch. The flock fibers can have a diameter in the range from about 3 denier to about 4 denier. The invention also relates to a method of making the heat-insulating material by providing a laminate of a reinforcing layer and a base layer of a thickness less than 0.
