Patent number: 6082376Abstract: A method for operating an upright wet extractor having a base and a handle. The base includes a floor cleaning tool and has a hand held cleaning tool permanently attached thereto. A motor fan unit is operated to generate a suction force and this suction force is selectively communicated to a suction inlet of one of the hand held cleaning tool and the floor cleaning tool. When the suction force is communicated to the hand held cleaning tool suction inlet, pressurized cleaning fluid is also supplied to that tool, and when the suction force is supplied to the suction inlet of the floor cleaning tool, a brush unit is rotated in the floor cleaning tool.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1999Date of Patent: July 4, 2000Assignee: White Consolidated Industries, Inc.Inventors: Richard Karr, David Erickson, Kevin Genge, William Hanold, Gregory Luebbering, William Phelan

Patent number: 5933912Abstract: An upright wet extractor includes a base assembly, a manipulative handle pivotally attached to the base assembly, and a motor driven agitator brush. A cleaning solution dispensing tank is removably attached to the handle assembly by a pivotable latch member. In a floor cleaning mode, cleaning solution is selectively supplied by gravity from the dispensing tank to a floor cleaning spray nozzle through a supply tube which is controlled by a pinch valve. In an attachment hose cleaning mode, cleaning solution is selectively supplied by a motor driven pump from the dispensing tank to an attachment hose spray nozzle which is controlled by a trigger valve. A suction motor/fan assembly is carried by the base assembly which is selectively in fluid communication with a floor suction nozzle in the floor cleaning mode and an attachment hose suction nozzle when in the attachment hose cleaning mode.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: White Consolidated Industries, Inc.Inventors: Richard Karr, David Erickson, Kevin Genge, William Hanold, Gregory Luebbering, William Phelan

Patent number: 5896384Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a method of using a bypass buffer in a node coupled to a ringlet includes the steps of: writing a packet of binary digital signals on the ringlet into the bypass buffer; and retaining the packet of binary digital signals in the bypass buffer for a predetermined amount of time before transferring the packet to the ringlet.Briefly, in accordance with another embodiment, a node to be coupled to a ringlet includes: a transmit buffer and a receive buffer. The transmit and receive buffers are coupled in a configuration to transfer binary digital signals between the node and the ringlet via the transmit and receive buffers. The configuration further includes a bypass buffer to temporarily queue binary digital signals passing through the node. The bypass buffer is further coupled in the configuration to retain a packet of binary digital signals for a predetermined amount of time before transferring the packet to the ringlet.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1997Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: Intel CorporationInventor: Marc David Erickson

Patent number: 4709889Abstract: A wire clip is constructed as a one piece flexible elongate plastic molded strip having a central loop-shaped wire retaining portion and an attachment means for fastening its two ends in unison to a workpiece surface. Each end has a slot extending crosswise to the length of the elongate plastic molded strip; the open end of the two slots face in opposite directions. The ends are assembled together with their slots in alignment. The two ends are formed with slanting complementary surfaces which mate together to provide a sliding wedge action as a fastening pin is driven therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1986Date of Patent: December 1, 1987Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: David A. Patent number: 4388012Abstract: There is disclosed a new and improved swivel connector assembly for connecting a member to be pivoted to a pivot. The assembly includes just two components which may be readily assembled, a socketed assembly and a retaining sleeve. The socketed assembly has a forward portion including a socket forming a bearing seat and a rearward portion having a cylindrically shaped socket. A slot which extends from a point forward of the bearing seat center to and through the rearward portion to form bifurcated opposed socketed portions which may be separated to enlarge the bearing seat and cylindrically shaped socket to permit ready assembly of the same to a pivot ball and a member to be pivoted. The sleeve is arranged to be axially slid over the socketed rearward portion to thereby maintain the assembly in assembled relation.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1980Date of Patent: June 14, 1983Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: David A.
