    Abstract: A cosmetic composition for coloring keratin fibers includes a moisture-curable silicone resin formed from reaction of a silylated polyethyleneimine, an acid or a base, and at least one hydrolyzable silane having formula R1nSiR24-n, wherein R1 is alkyl, aryl, fluoroalkyl, trialkylsilyl, triarylsilyl, vinyl, or combination thereof; R2 is alkoxy, aryloxy, acetoxy, oximino, enoxy, ?-hydroxycarboxylic acid amide (—OCR2CONR2), ?-hydroxycarboxylic acid ester (—OCR2COOR), H, halogen, or combination thereof; n=0, 1, 2, or 3; R is alkyl or H. A coloring agent can be added to the moisture-curable silicone resin and the composition is applied to keratin fiber. A kit for coloring a keratin fiber contains a first container containing the moisture-curable silicone resin; and a second container containing coloring agent. The first container and the second container are mixed prior to application to the keratin fiber.
