Patent number: 11971056Abstract: A head unit device for controlling motion of an object includes a chamber filled with a shear thickening fluid (STF) and a piston. The piston is housed within the chamber and exerts pressure against the STF from a force applied to the piston from the object. The STF is configured to have a decreasing viscosity in response to a first range of shear rates and an increasing viscosity in response to a second range of shear rates. The piston includes at least one piston bypass between opposite sides of the piston that controls flow of the STF between the opposite sides of the piston to selectively react with a shear threshold effect of the first range of shear rates or the second range of shear rates.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Moshun, LLCInventors: Timothy John Boundy, Steven Michael Barger, Terence Michael Lydon, Richard Michael Lang, Wilfredo Gonzalez, Jr., Darren Michael Boundy, Eric McHugh, David Schuda, George L Wilson, IV, Gary W. Publication number: 20240125079Abstract: Disclosed is a cover for a utility vault and a method for making such covers. The cover is formed from fiberglass reinforcement layers, a low-density core, and a polymer mix matrix. The reinforcement layers include a bottom reinforcement layer, one or more edge reinforcement layers, and a top reinforcement layer. A first portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the bottom reinforcement layer and a second portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the top reinforcement layer. The core is positioned between the top and bottom reinforcement layers. The reinforcement layers are formed from fiberglass fabric and may include fiberglass layers whose fibers are oriented quadraxially. The polymer mix impregnates the fabric layers, encases the core, and binds the components together. The polymer matrix includes a thermoset polymer resin.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Lemuel David Fagan, Keith Alden Chudley, Ernest Stephen Forsten, Jason David Estes

Patent number: 11566241Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods relate to predicting the relative representation of genomic variants in an edited cell population, based on the editing cassette design representation in an editing cassette design library used to generate the edited cell population. A library of editing cassette designs is generated, and a feature vector, or sequence embedding, is developed for each design using natural language processing techniques. The feature vector may be based upon sequence attributes and editing kinetics of each cassette design as well as attributes that describe the library context. Features may include sequence embeddings generated from a neural network, linguistic-type distances, and statistical distance summaries thereof. The feature vectors are classified using one or more machine learning models, and the classified feature vectors are used to predict the representation of each design an edited cell population.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2021Date of Patent: January 31, 2023Assignee: Inscripta, Inc.Inventors: Andrea Halweg-Edwards, Thomas Hraha, Krishna Yerramsetty, Shea Lambert, Miles Gander, Matthew David Estes, Chad Douglas Sanada, Isaac David Wagner, Paul Hardenbol
