Publication number: 20240114447Abstract: Configuration of a main access point device (APD) requires an amount of time that can cause a user to incorrectly assume that that issues have arisen during configuration. The amount of time can be due in part to the APD determining a backhaul connection for use with an EAPD, for example, a satellite APD. The APD can determine an initial backhaul connection for use during the configuration. This initial backhaul connection can be based, for example, on one or more default configuration parameters. The APD can proceed with configuration using the initial backhaul connection. The APD can send a configuration notification to a client device associated with the user that informs the user, for example, that the configuration is completed and that a backhaul optimization is being performed. In this way, the user is informed of the status of the configuration such that costs and resources can be conserved.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Krishna Prasad PANJE, Lakshmi ARUNKUMAR, David F. Patent number: 11941106Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are drawn to a client device for use with a first network device, a second network device, an external server, the first network device being configured to communicate with the external server and the second network device being configured to communicate with the external server. The client device includes a memory and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory. This causes the client device to onboard onto the first network device using a first password, generate a key, and store first association information in the external server. The first association information including client device identifying data to uniquely identify the client device.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: ARRIS ENTERPRISES LLCInventors: Sathish Arumugam Chandrasekaran, Muralidharan Narayanan, David F. Brumbaugh, Jalagandeswari Ganapathy

Patent number: 11689914Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer-readable recording medium perform client configuration of a managed device in a wireless network. A client device retrieves capabilities data from an Internet-based cloud server, builds a user interface (UI) based upon the user defined capabilities data and managed service defined capabilities data, sends a data request to the managed device, receives managed device state data from the managed device, sends command to update the managed device, and when the update of the managed device is complete, instructs managed device to send current user defined capabilities data and managed service defined capabilities data to the Internet-based cloud server.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2021Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: ARRIS ENTERPRISES LLCInventors: Muralidharan Narayanan, Sathish Arumugam Chandrasekaran, David F. Publication number: 20220182964Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are drawn to a client device for use with a Wi-Fi network device, a second client device, and a third client device. The Wi-Fi network device has a host table stored therein. The host table lists the second client device and the third client device. The client device is able to associate with the Wi-Fi network device, identify the second client device, and identify the third client device. The client device also creates a monitored devices list of client devices associated with the Wi-Fi network based on the host table. The client device also adds the second client device to the monitored devices list and determines, from the host table, whether the second client device is currently associated with the Wi-Fi network device. The client device additionally provides an indication when the second client device is currently associated with the Wi-Fi network device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2021Publication date: June 9, 2022Inventor: David F. BRUMBAUGH

Patent number: 10154298Abstract: A method of acquiring and accumulating data from a server via a network is provided. A request is transmitted for a plurality of items of data and includes at least one ingestion marker associated with the data. The at least one ingestion marker represents a last occurrence of when a change was made to the data. Data is received with a transfer protocol in response to the request. The data has at least one associated ingestion marker different than the at least one associated ingestion marker transmitted with the request. The received data and the at least one associated ingestion marker is stored in memory. The request is transmitted and the data is received and stored electronically by an electronic client device communicating with the server over the network. A system of acquiring and accumulating Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data from a web-server over a network is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2017Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: Google Technology Holdings LLCInventors: Navneeth N. Kannan, Robert C. Booth, David F. Brumbaugh
