  • Publication number: 20110062743
Abstract: A roll-out cover system for a container having an open top is provided that includes a cover, a pair of pivot arms, a gearbox, a motor, a drive mechanism, and a controller. The cover has a leading end and a trailing end. The pivot arms are positioned on respective sidewalls of the container. Each pivot arm has a free end connected to a leading end of the cover, and a pivot end. The pivot arms are pivotable between a first position wherein the cover is retracted from the open top, and a second position wherein the cover is extended substantially over the open top. The gearbox has an input shaft and an output shaft connected to the pivot arms. The controller selectively controls the motor and coupled gearbox to operate the drive mechanism and connected pivot arms between the first position wherein the cover is retracted, and the second position wherein the cover is extended substantially over the open top.

  • Patent number: 7806647
Abstract: A lift gate apparatus for a truck or trailer body is provided that includes a platform and a drive mechanism operable to pivot the platform between a stowed position and a deployed position, and vertically move the platform from a bed-level position and a lower than bed-level position. In some embodiments, the drive mechanism utilizes a pneumatic motor to power one or both of a pivot drive and a lift drive. In some embodiments, the drive mechanism utilizes one or more pneumatic cylinders within the pivot drive or lift drive. In some embodiments, one or more pneumatic cylinders are arranged to both pivot the platform and vertically lift the platform, thereby combining the functionality of the pivot drive and the lift drive. The emergency brake system of the truck or trailer body can be used as a source of compressed air to power the pneumatic motor and/or cylinders.

  • Patent number: 6550141
Abstract: Razor heads comprising at least one blade and a plurality of guard elements over the leading edge at a plurality of intermediate portions. According to preferred embodiments, the guard elements are integrally molded with at least one or more of a blade support, spacer element(s), forward guard member and cap member. The use of integrally molded guard elements facilitate efficient, quicker and less expensive manufacturing, provide greater design flexibility, and provide greater blade stability. Additionally, in preferred embodiments, when the molded guard elements are aligned with spacers, these guard elements do not interfere with the rinsability of the razor head. The intermediate guard elements also provide additional sites for the placement of shaving aids and other skin flow control materials such as materials having a relatively high coefficient of friction.

  • Publication number: 20020095791
Abstract: A razor blade cartridge includes a plastic body having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a series of guard ribs integrally molded with the plastic body and extending between the leading and trailing edges of the plastic body. The razor blade cartridge also includes one or more cutting blades encompassed by the plastic body, each of the cutting blades including a cutting edge facing the leading edge of the plastic body. The guard ribs, which cover the cutting edges of the cutting blades, reduce friction as the cutting blades pass over a skin surface and minimize the likelihood of nicks and cuts while shaving.
