  • Patent number: 8963399
Abstract: An induction machine short circuit stop is interposed between a brace and a machine component, such as a generator building bolt, in order to limit component motion during a short circuit event. The stop is a block of resilient non-conductive material that is oriented proximal the machine component at a desired spaced gap. Gap dimensions may be modified by use of different height stop blocks and/or shims. The stop is affixed to the brace by straps, cordage or fasteners, such as threaded studs. The stop is suitable for retrofitting existing induction machines in the field or in refurbishing service centers.
