Publication number: 20220323852Abstract: A chessboard defines a first longitudinal edge, a second longitudinal edge, a lateral axis of symmetry bisecting the chessboard into two lateral halves, and a top surface extending between the longitudinal edges, the top surface defining a plurality of chessboard squares. The plurality of chessboard squares defines a plurality of ranks, each rank extending as a single row of chessboard squares from the first longitudinal edge to the second longitudinal edge. Ranks adjacent to the lateral axis of symmetry define two central ranks that together comprise a battle zone. Chessboard squares located outside of the battle zone define a first color scheme in which the chessboard squares located outside the battle zone alternate between a first color and a second color different from the first color. Chessboard squares in the plurality of chessboard squares located within the battle zone define a second color scheme differing from the first color scheme.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2021Publication date: October 13, 2022Inventor: David Farmer

Patent number: 11192021Abstract: A chess game kit includes a chessboard defining opposed edges, a lateral axis of symmetry bisecting the chessboard, and a top surface extending between the opposed edges. The top surface defines a plurality of chessboard squares defining a plurality of ranks. The ranks adjacent to the lateral axis of symmetry define two central ranks that together comprise a battle zone. Chessboard squares located outside of the battle zone alternate between a first color and a second color, and chessboard squares located within the battle zone alternate between the first color and a third color. The kit further includes a plurality of cards each reciting a chess game consequence to occur as a result of a player moving a capturing chess piece from a first chessboard position outside of the battle zone to a second chessboard position inside the battle zone to capture an opposing chess piece.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2021Date of Patent: December 7, 2021Inventor: David Farmer

Patent number: 10324067Abstract: A method detects the presence of a vehicle on a railway track using a sensing processor monitoring a sensing system for detecting vibration into ground installed along the railway track. The sensing system includes a detection module for detecting a vehicle on the railway track. The method includes an initialization step which includes the sub-steps of emitting a first signal to be received by the sensing processor through the sensing system, sending a first message to the sensing processor, monitoring the sensing system, and configuring the detection module in function of the received first signal and configuration data received in the first message. The configuration data can include location of the initialization device, intensity/magnitude of the first signal, emission time of the first signal, and/or type of object corresponding to the first signal.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2018Date of Patent: June 18, 2019Assignee: Alstom Transport TechnologiesInventors: Nicholas David Nagrodsky, James Michael Kiss, Jr., Jeffrey Fries, Derick Diaz, David Farmer

Patent number: 10145983Abstract: A vibration monitoring system includes an acoustic device that outputs an analog signal to a fiber cable for calibration and location verification. The acoustic device utilizes GPS or communication from wayside bungalow equipment to verify GPS location or real-time clock information. The wayside bungalow contains communication equipment that interfaces with the acoustic device and relays health information to a sensing processor. The sensing processor is configured to detect the acoustic signal output by the acoustic device at a known location and verifies that the cable and device have not moved location by comparing the signal level received against a threshold stored in memory. When the threshold is exceeded, the sensing processor sends an alert that the fiber optic cable or acoustic device at the location have changed.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2016Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: Alstom Transport TechnologiesInventors: Nicholas David Nagrodsky, James Michael Kiss, Jr., Jeffrey Michael Fries, Derick Diaz, David Farmer

Patent number: 8020241Abstract: The invention is a squeegee, consisting of a handle and blade assembly that is mounted on a set of tracks. The blade assembly has a left and a right side mounted roller which are designed to operate inside of each track. The side mounted rollers will allow the blade to move upwards and downwards on the tracks. Once installed, the track system ensures that the squeegee maintains constant pressure against the planar surface. In the preferred embodiment, the top of the tracks will feature a hook type design for the use of attaching the invention to the top of a planar surface. An alternative embodiment has the track mounted to the frame of the door or window. A third embodiment integrates a motorized squeegee that has the track mounted to the shower door or window.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2007Date of Patent: September 20, 2011Inventors: David Farmer, Lynda Farmer

Patent number: 7007043Abstract: A method, computer program product, and data management appliance for scheduling mountable point-in-time views of a storage volume is disclosed. A device external to the data processing system requests indentification information regarding available virtual views made of at least one primary storage device. The identification information is received from the device. The virtual views are incorporated into native filesystem associated with the data processing system. The identification information includes an alphanumeric name, creation date and time information, filesystem type, and access privileges.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2002Date of Patent: February 28, 2006Assignee: Storage Technology CorporationInventors: David Farmer, David Lee Trachy, Randy Pierce, Marcia Reid Martin

Publication number: 20050171951Abstract: A server runs a software program controlling a system and is connected to the Internet to communicate with one or more advertising agencies. A client of the agencies has a home location with a server connected to the Internet for communication with the server and the agencies. The client can have branches that are connected to the Internet for communication with the server and the Client Home and, in some circumstances, with the agencies. Also connected to the Internet are Media parties representing any and all types of advertising display parties such as radio, television, print, billboard, etc. The media parties also could be brokers that place the advertising with various media outlets.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2005Publication date: August 4, 2005Inventor: David Farmer

Publication number: 20040133575Abstract: A method, computer program product, and data management appliance for scheduling mountable point-in-time views of a storage volume is disclosed. A web-based administrative interface is provided for entering rules defining a scheduling policy under which point-in-time views are to be created and published among a network of computers. Publication of a single point-in-time view may be scheduled or a series of recurring point-in-time views may be scheduled. A naming scheme may be employed to create distinguishable recurring point-in-time views that are mounted as storage volumes or directories in a file system.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2002Publication date: July 8, 2004Applicant: Storage Technology CorporationInventors: David Farmer, David Lee Trachy, Randy Pierce, Marcia Reid Martin
