  • Publication number: 20090144156
Abstract: A retail establishment advertising system and method are disclosed. They allow a display of special content to interrupt a display of ongoing content on one or more display units. Ongoing content, such as advertisements, news, entertainment, or other relevant information, is provided on the display units until an urgent or security-related alert is required, and display of override content becomes necessary. Special content can include information relevant to specially discounted items or to security alert messages pertaining to, for example, security threats such as accidents, major delays, fire, missing children, terrorist activity, or other content deemed adequately pertinent to warrant interrupting the display of ongoing content.

  • Publication number: 20080252457
Abstract: The present invention consists of an electronic vehicle tag (EVT), which is preferably 12×6 inches. It consists of an encasement mountable by 4 screws to a motor vehicle. The front face is comprised of an electronic paper display technology, which requires no power consumption to maintain its image. The electronic paper display will hold a high resolution full color graphic design relating to the vehicle tag selected and tag information depending on the state of issuances requirements. The display is reflective and can be easily read in sunlight or dimly lit environments and at virtually any angle. The plate has an electronic paper technology for display, wireless communication transmitter/receiver, logic board for electronic paper manipulation, high impact encasement, and a battery pack. The battery pack is used to change the display when required. The electronic vehicle tag is independent of the vehicle in which it is attached.

  • Publication number: 20070226762
Abstract: A digital communication system is disclosed, that allows a display of override content to interrupt a display of ongoing content on one or more display units. Ongoing content, such as advertisements, news, entertainment, or other relevant information, is provided on the display units until an urgent or security-related alert is required, and display of override content becomes necessary. Override content can include information relevant to the security of a passenger or passer-by viewing the display. Override content can relate to security threats such as accidents, major delays, fire, missing children, terrorist activity, or other content deemed adequately pertinent to warrant interrupting the display of ongoing content.

  • Patent number: 6647890
Abstract: A self-contained round of ammunition has a cartridge casing including a tubular body defining a cylindrical rifled bore and a base threadably attached to the casing body and forming a closure for a breech end of the rifled bore. A sabot which carries a ring airfoil projectile is constrained for limited axial movement within and relative to the bore from a loaded position adjacent the base to a fired position wherein an annular arresting lip integrally formed at the muzzle end of the cartridge body engages an annular abutment surface on the sabot. The lip defines a cylindrical muzzle opening having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the bore and larger than the major diameter of the projectile which may pass freely there through. The sabot in its loaded position cooperates with the base to form a pressure chamber therebetween for receiving gasses of explosion generated by a powder charge contained within the base and in communication with a primer mounted in the base.

  • Patent number: 6300701
Abstract: It is possible to monitor the performance of a lubrication system performance of a Dynamoelectric Machine (DEM) by observing the electric current flowing in the DEM shaft. Suitable Rogowski coils are mounted around the shaft of the rotor of a DEM just inboard the bearings. The Rogowski coil may be mounted on the shaft to rotate with the shaft, or it may be mounted on said DEM so as to surround the shaft and remain stationary. Shaft current magnitudes may be established for start-up and steady state operating conditions. Any deviation from the steady state shaft current magnitude may be taken as a warning that the DEM bearing lubrication system is malfunctioning.

  • Patent number: 5487232
Abstract: An improved detonator assembly for a black powder firearm having a breech block, a receiver, and a nipple. The detonator assembly comprises a primer and a primer carrier. The primer carrier has an axial bore dimensioned to receive the primer at one end and slip over the firearm nipple at the opposite end. The primer carrier has a lip that abuts the breech block rear end. A tab laterally extends from the lip to provide a handle for installing and removing the assembly and a visual indication that the firearm is primed.

  • Patent number: 5448939
Abstract: A firearm having a disconnector movable in two planes to disconnect the gun if the bolt moves rearward, disconnects the gun if the magazine box is removed and is the connecting member between the trigger and the sears. The firearm has a double sear both of which must be released from the firing pin carrier before the firing pin carrier can move into a firing mode. The firing pin carrier has an indicator visible to the operator to indicate whether or not the gun is in a firing mode. The magazine latch has an integral ejector and the barrel has projections between the magazine box is received to align the magazine box to the chamber mouth. Additionally, there is a firing pin retractor plunger in the bolt which separates the firing pin carrier from the bolt immediately after firing to enhance ejection of spent rounds.

  • Patent number: 5067266
Abstract: A lever action rifle having a breech bolt, an exposed hammer moveable between cocked and striking positions, an operating lever supported for movement between inactive and cocking and loading position for opening and closing the breech bolt and moving the hammer to cocked position, and a trigger moveable from a ready position to a firing position to release the hammer from cocked position to move to striking position includes a hammer blocking mechanism which allows the hammer to attain its striking position only in response to proper operation of the trigger. A trigger latching mechanism secures the trigger in its ready position when the operating lever is moved from its inactive position and also functions to releasably retain the operating lever in its inactive position.
