  • Patent number: 11939807
Abstract: A vertical pivoting gate operator for positioning a gate between an open position and a closed position is provided. The gate operator includes a motor drive assembly including a motor and a linkage assembly mechanically connecting a motor output to the gate such that in response to actuation of the motor, the linkage assembly transmits an opening force to positioning the gate toward the open position, and a closing force, for positioning the gate toward the closed position. A counterbalance assembly including a biasing member is operable to release stored energy against an input link to rotate a gate arm shaft so as to urge the gate toward the open position and to increase stored energy in response to rotation of the gate traveling toward the closed position to act against the gate as it approaches the closed position.

  • Patent number: 9027248
Abstract: A solar panel mounting system includes a plurality of solar panel support structures which can be formed from solid concrete in adjacent rows with mounting surfaces that are tilted towards the equator. The solar panels can have an adhesive backing which can be used to secure the solar panels directly to the mounting surfaces. The support structures can be made of concrete and formed with a slip form machine. This construction can reduce the time and materials required for the solar panel installation. The solar panel mounting system can also occupy significantly less ground space than conventional solar panel installations.

  • Patent number: 6835910
Abstract: A self-contained crucible assembly for forming a weld between a pair of metal articles, includes a container with side walls and a fusible bottom, a refractory material lining the side walls, an exothermic weld material within the container, an ignitor partially within or close to the weld material and partially external to the container, and a cover sealing the weld material. The ignitor may be stiffened to maintain its shape, and keep it in a desired position relative to the exothermic weld material. The crucible assembly is configured to be placed on mold having a chamber therein. Upon ignition of the weld material via actuation of the ignitor, the weld material reacts exothermically to produce molten weld metal and slag. The fusible bottom of the container is melted by the liquified molten metal, and the weld material flows into a weld chamber of the mold to produce the weld.
