Abstract: A system, computer product and method for providing a set of documents reconciled in accordance with business rules via the Internet is provided. The system, computer product and method of the present invention enables web-based bookkeeping in particular. A client provides a plurality of business documents to the operator of a web server. The business documents are provided electronically or in the form of scanned images the documents or via data entry interfaces. The web server includes a series of tools that enable the business documents to be converted into reconciled books such that access to supporting documents is readily available in accordance with a series of business rules.
