A first coat of a stabilizer is applied to frames of a selected scene. A second coat of stabilizer is applied, and a third coat of stabilizer is thereafter applied. A security code according to the present invention may be applied to specifically selected locations on a reel or footage so as to create a unique code which is traceable to, e.g., a specific laboratory.
