  • Publication number: 20160303446
Abstract: The present invention relates to a games apparatus and, in particular, to equipment relating to sports where a net or other guide is required, such as tennis, badminton and volleyball. Such sports that people usually play individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of players each throwing/hitting/returning a ball or each player uses a racquet to strike a ball over a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to play the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a good return. The net, together a net support and a marked-out ground enable a game of tennis to be played. Another type of sport that involves a net is volleyball. Volleyball involves two teams of six players, separated by a net, whereby one team scores points, one against another, by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.

  • Publication number: 20160022386
Abstract: The present invention provides a dental implant that can be fitted immediately into a tooth socket after native tooth extraction and preparation of the tooth socket and without having to drill into the bone. The dental implant comprises a core enveloped by an expandable anchor comprising a plurality of joined segments. The core is displaced within an inner chamber of the anchor and generates an expansion force causing the joined segments to be displaced linearly away from the central axis of the implant where the coronal and apical ends of each joined segment are displaced in parallel paths normal to the central axis of the implant.

  • Patent number: 5503800
Abstract: An apparatus for exposing a liquid to bactericidal radiation is disclosed. The apparatus includes a source of ultra-violet radiation and a non-opaque housing enclosing the source of ultra-violet radiation to prevent exposure of the source to the liquid and permit exposure of the liquid to the radiation. Channels conforming to the shape of the housing are provided. Projections are formed in the channels to induce turbulent plug flow such that when the apparatus is inserted into a flow of liquid to be treated, the channels act to confine and direct liquid about the housing and the projections act to establish a continuous, cyclical flow in the channels between the housing and the channel walls to ensure exposure of the liquid to a lethal dose of the ultra-violet radiation of the source. Methods utilizing the apparatus for exposing a liquid to bactericidal radiation are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4008045
Abstract: Enhanced efficiency of an ultra-violet water sterilization device is assured by disposing a diffuser plate constructed of vanes at one end of a sterilization device so that the liquid flows by the vanes, to become turbulent and is directed into a rotational, non channeled path through a sterilization flux such that the flow of incremental fluid through the device becomes essentially constant and predictable so that the exposure of incremental fluid to the sterilization flux can be controlled to ensure bacteria kill.
