  • Publication number: 20190248390
Abstract: A track intrusion detection system for detecting the presence of human intruders in a path of a railway vehicle is disclosed. The track intrusion detection system includes at least one-track module for each entrance of a tunnel railway and a server. Each track module includes at least two sensors and a signal processing unit to indicate the presence of human intruders in the area scanned by the at least two sensors.

  • Publication number: 20190250255
Abstract: A method and system for targeting and tracking an intruder within a specified volume, which may include the following steps: periodically scanning through a defined zone of coverage with a laser beam produced by at least one laser transmitter, said defined zone of coverage being within said specified volume and adjustable by motion of at least one of a swing mirror or a rotating block; collecting, with at least one laser sensor, reflections of said laser beam reflected from objects within said adjustable defined zone of coverage; applying signal processing algorithms to LADAR signals to determine a presence of an intruder; calculating, in the event of a positive determination of intruder presence, respective orientation parameters of said intruder; and, moving said swing mirror or said rotating block, thereby adjusting said defined zone of coverage, to target said at least one laser transmitter and to track said intruder.

  • Publication number: 20060246532
Abstract: Based on the observation that exposure of cells or animals to anthrax lethal toxin results in activation of the intracellular enzyme caspase-1/IL-1 converting enzyme (ICE), which, in turn, leads to production and extracellular release of the cytokine substrates of ICE: interleukin 1 beta (IL-1?) and interleukin 18 (IL-18), disclosed herein are bioassays that can be used to determine the efficacy of a potential anthrax therapeutic agent and for screening test agents to identify anthrax therapeutic agents. Also disclosed herein are methods of diagnosing and treating anthrax infection.
