  • Patent number: 4723802
Abstract: A rotary driven elongated pointed rod member having wingnut-like projections affixed thereto. The wingnut-like projections being spaced apart sufficient distances for contacting weeds and undesired plants at interval points when the device is moved beneath the surface of the ground while being rotated. The projections grip and wind the weed about the rod and then retain the weed and its roots and carry the unwanted wood and its root system out of the soil. The projections can depend straight downwardly or can be canted to form a spiral soil entering action. Following the withdrawal of the weed the loose soil that has been pulverized and aerated is left in the hole that had been formed by the weed removing action.

  • Patent number: 4715844
Abstract: A tool for gripping and moving an alternator or generator about a pivot point on an engine, or the like, to tighten the driven pulley of the alternator or generator against a drive belt or chain. A handle attached by a swivel connection to an adjustable pressure pad to aid in such moving motion. A flat band capable of being disconnected at one point to allow the tool to encircle an alternator or generator housing. The pressure pad affixed to the band in such a manner as to allow a screw-like advancement of the pad between the band and the alternator or generator housing. A friction coating covering both the band and the pad.

  • Patent number: 4700434
Abstract: A circular disk having a tool actuable projection on one face and a threaded stud projecting from the other face. A slit formed in the threaded stud that cooperates with a threaded receiving tool held disk. The threaded stud is placed over a line with the line fitting into the slot. The threaded disk is then screwed over the threaded stud to confine the wire within the slot. A plurality of matched and aligned openings in both disks concentrically located near the outer diameters of the disks through which pins, bolts or cotter pins can be inserted after the disks are rotated relative to one another to wind the wire about the bolt during a tightening operation, thereby not permitting the tightened wound wire from unwinding from the formed coil.
