  • Patent number: 4744428
Abstract: A scale small enough and light enough to be carried in a person's pocket by virtue of the fact that most of its components are formed of lightweight molded plastic material. The fulcrum for the beam of the scale is provided by a pair of pointed, metal fulcrum posts adapted to cooperate with a pair of metal bearing inserts in the beam. A sliding weight which is movable along the beam has a metal insert to increase its weight and the metal insert is positioned in the plane of the fulcrum when the sliding weight is in its zero position.

  • Patent number: 4527579
Abstract: A foldable cane constructed in three sections each joined by pairs of hinge links having laterally displaced hinge pins which permit adjoining sections to be swung through 180.degree. relative to each other so that in the folded configuration of the cane the three sections are disposed along side each other in essentially parallel relationship to occupy a minimum amount of space. The pairs of hinge links are equipped with spring urged slidable locking sleeves for locking the hinge links in axial alignment when the cane is in use.

  • Patent number: 4340095
Abstract: A hand-held pulverizer has a grinding section and a flat, detachable collecting plate into which pulverized material falls as it is ground. The pulverized material may be transferred from the collecting plate to a relatively small jar by attaching the broad end of a funnel-like device to the collecting plate, attaching a relatively small jar to the narrow end of the funnel, and inverting the funnel. When all of the material is transferred to the jar, the funnel may be removed, and a cap attached to the jar.

  • Patent number: 4212430
Abstract: A hand-held pulverizer which is compact and efficient to use is provided to pulverize or grind a material. A cover is removably attached to a hollow cylindrical casing containing a mesh screen. A grinder disc is securely affixed to one end of a shaft rotatably mounted in the cover and is in frictional contact with the mesh screen. A handle attached to the shaft above the cover permits the shaft and disc to be rotated, grinding or pulverizing the material placed on the screen beneath the disc. A collecting plate attached to the bottom of the cylindrical casing receives the pulverized material falling through the screen.

  • Patent number: 3968849
Abstract: A lightweight portable pocket size scale, the balancing mechanism of which may be folded and contained in the bottom portion of a two piece case when not in use and which may accurately weigh small quantities of substances when the cover portion of the case is removed and the balancing mechanism is unfolded from its storage position in the bottom portion of the case.
