  • Patent number: 6900411
Abstract: Disclosed is a flexible printed circuit board for use in a control handle. The circuit board includes resistive heating elements for heating electrical components in the circuit to limit the formation of frost and condensation on the components.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 6, 2003
Date of Patent: May 31, 2005
    Assignee: The Raymond Corporation

  • Publication number: 20040138954
Abstract: A software architecture and system, method, and computer readable medium comprising software, for displaying order confirmation information in connection with an audibly placed order. The system includes a point-of-sale information service that generates order information from the audibly placed order. An order confirmation information service transforms the order confirmation information generated by the point-of-sale information service into a browser readable format. The browser readable order confirmation information is comprised of order confirmation information that can be rendered by a browser. A web server (or file server) serves the browser readable order confirmation information to a browser, which displays the browser readable order confirmation information. The system also includes a user interface for displaying information about items logically missing from the ordered items. The logically missing item can be determined and displayed after each item is selected by a user.

  • Patent number: 4414592
Abstract: A coupler for a magnetic head includes a flat circumferential surface around the aperture in which the head is mounted and a circumferential orifice surface outside of and adjacent to the flat surface. The orifice surface forms a hydrodynamic orifice for control of flow of air over the flat circumferential surface to couple the magnetic medium to the magnetic head by the Bernoulli effect created by movement of air between the medium and the flat circumferential surface. The coupler protrudes through a flat Bernoulli plate against which the magnetic disk is rotated.

  • Patent number: 4074330
Abstract: A Bernoulli disk storage apparatus includes an elongated slot or groove having a substantial radial elongated portion for movably receiving a transducer. On either side of the groove are air bearing means which induce a pull down force on the record storage disk as it passes over the groove. By varying selected parameters, the medium-to-transducer spacing is held substantially constant throughout the radial extent of a desired recording area. Further, flutter usually associated with a Bernoulli disk at its outer radial portion is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 3969767
Abstract: Semi-rigid washers are coaxially disposed to form an air-permeable spindle for coaxially supporting flexible record disks. A plurality of such washers and disks is coaxially stacked to construct a flexible disk file. Washers preferably have an annular shoulder with a depth slightly different than the thickness of the record disks for firmly supporting and aligning same in the coaxial stack. Alternatively, disks may be adhesively secured to a radial outward portion of each washer. Additionally, each washer has a plurality of radially extending air passageways for facilitating radial air movement which controls the stack of flexible record disks. A radial inward portion of each washer abuts each adjacent washer for forming a firm axial stack of disks. A rigid stabilizing plate at each axial end completes the assembly.

  • Patent number: 3940794
Abstract: A signal storage apparatus employs a stack of circular record disks accessible by axially separating segments of selected disks in the stack. One disk in a stack of coaxial rotatable circular compliant record disks is accessed with a minimum energy imparted to such disks by a chord roll disk separator. In a preferred form, the chord roll disk separator induces a primary bending mode to some of the disks being axially separated. In another aspect of the disclosure, a signal transducer is mounted integrally with the disk separator. With such mounting, primary, secondary, or higher order bending modes may be successfully employed. Full chordal and partial chordal axial disk separations are described. Arcuate and radially directed separation techniques may be employed. A unique axial stacking arrangement for compliant record disks is also described.
