  • Patent number: 8740711
Abstract: An outer race assembly for a constant velocity joint may include an outer race defining a plurality of tracks and a piston selectively moveable along the tracks of the outer race. The outer race assembly may further include a seal disposed about the piston and abutting the outer race about substantially an entire perimeter of the piston. The seal thereby generally seals an interface between the piston and the outer race.

  • Publication number: 20130239710
Abstract: A fixed joint test fixture is disclosed that may be selectively assembled and disassembled. The fixed joint test fixture includes a fixed joint sub-assembly, a shaft member, and a selectively actuatable engagement member. The fixed joint sub-assembly includes an inner bore and a stem member with a channel extending therethrough. The shaft member has an engagement channel formed in an end surface of an engagement end thereof. The engagement member is configured to be received within the engagement channel. The engagement end of the shaft is configured to be received within the inner bore, with the engagement member partially seated within the engagement channel thereof. The engagement member is configured to be advanced from the partially seated position within the engagement channel, thereby causing the shaft member to selectively and frictionally engage with the fixed joint sub-assembly.

  • Patent number: 7677982
Abstract: A constant velocity joint and a boot for a constant velocity joint are disclosed. The boot generally includes a first channel and a second channel. The first channel is in fluid communication with a joint chamber of the constant velocity joint. The first channel is also in communication with the second channel and generally allows airflow therethrough while resisting clogs from lubricant. Additionally, the second channel generally allows airflow therethrough to the atmosphere while resisting passage of foreign contaminants therethrough.
