  • Patent number: 10458526
Abstract: Components, subassemblies, systems, and/or methods for improving the performance and increasing the life of continuously variable transmissions (CVT). A first stator may be formed with an outer diameter greater than an outer diameter of a second stator. A stator may have radial slots formed to extend farther radially inward than slots on the other stator. The larger outer diameter of a stator or the formation of guide slots on a first stator extending farther radially inward of guide slots on a second stator may prevent egress of a planet axle from a radial slot, increase range of the CVT, allow for larger tolerances to reduce losses, and other advantages, Slots on a timing plate may be formed having a width greater than a width of guide slots formed on either stator to allow the stators to control adjustments while the timing plate avoids runaway axles. The shape, including junction between surfaces on a timing plate or stator may also prevent an axle from egressing.

  • Patent number: 9849430
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for a mixing device are presented. The mixing device comprises a shaft and a plurality of blades attached to the shaft. The blades include a variable pitch angle configured to create axial fluid flow and radial fluid flow within a container. The apparatus includes a hub and a cage located at ends of the apparatus. The cage includes an open end configured to mate with a structure attached to the container. In further examples of the apparatus, the upper blade is configured to create axial flow in a substantially downward direction. The lower blade is configured to create axial flow in a substantially upward direction. The lower blade can create an axial flow that encounters the upper blade. A method includes locating a mixing apparatus within the container, inserting fluid within the container, rotating the mixing apparatus, and mixing the fluid.

  • Publication number: 20070233930
Abstract: A peripheral component Interconnect (PCI) switch that has at least one control logic device that is capable of changing, on-demand, widths of dedicated buses is provided. The buses are PCI Express buses and thus, are composed of lanes. The control logic device is a lane enable register (LER). Each location in the LER corresponds to a lane of a dedicated bus and is used to enable or disable the corresponding lane. Consequently, widths of dedicated buses are changed by using the switch of the invention to add or subtract one or more lanes from the buses.

  • Patent number: 4991544
Abstract: A seed guard that is detachably securable to any bird cage and which deflects thrown seeds back into the cage. The guard includes as many flat, cuttable sheets as there are sides to the cage. The opposite ends of each cuttable sheet are engaged by corner members that are detachably secured to the corner bars of the cage. The seed guard is provided in kit form so that the cage owner may assemble the corner members, attach them to the cage, cut the guard members to size, and slide the guard members into position by inserting the opposite ends of the guard members into detents provided by the corner members.
