  • Patent number: 11421015
Abstract: A system for selecting an immunogenic peptide composition comprising a processor and a memory storing processor-executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to create a first peptide set by selecting a plurality of base peptides, wherein at least one peptide of the plurality of base peptides is associated with a disease, create a second peptide set by adding to the first peptide set a modified peptide, wherein the modified peptide comprises a substitution of at least one residue of a base peptide selected from the plurality of base peptides, and create a third peptide set by selecting a subset of the second peptide set, wherein the selected subset of the second peptide set has a predicted vaccine performance, wherein the predicted vaccine performance has a population coverage above a predetermined threshold, and wherein the subset comprises at least one peptide of the second peptide set.

  • Publication number: 20070174847
Abstract: The invention features various techniques for managing transfers of information in public packet switched communications networks. In one aspect, the invention provides a system for identifying updated items of network-based information, such as pages, to users in a network. A master server receives the data from each of a plurality of network servers and merges them into one or more master logs. The logs have entries that pertaining to creation of or changing of pages of information. Another aspect of the invention features a system for implementing security protocols. A proxy server translates links from a protocol incompatible with the network tool to a protocol compatible with the network tool and back-translates the link. Another aspect of the invention features a system for managing authenticating credentials of a user. A proxy server manages a user's authenticating credentials automatically on behalf of the user.

  • Patent number: 6061424
Abstract: Method and apparatus for stereoscopic images using a viewing grid and not requiring a lenticular viewing screen. In one embodiment applied to roentgenography, the apparatus includes an X-ray source, a table or cradle disposed beneath the X-ray source for securing an image subject such as a patient, and a recording medium cassette disposed beneath the table or cradle. The cassette includes a film comprising a base, an emulsion on a first side of the base and a viewing grid on an opposite second side of the base, an image intensifying screen for exposing the emulsion films for recording an image, and a recording grid located between the phosphorous screen and the emulsion side of the film, and fixed in position relative to the image intensifying screen for masking a plurality of strips of predetermined width, of the emulsion film. During exposure, relative movement between the cradle and cassette is maintained so as to capture various views of the image subject on the emulsion film.

  • Patent number: 5211088
Abstract: A cutting tool having a main body with a longitudinal axis and one or more slide receiving slots. A cutter carrying slide is slidably received within the slide receiving slot in the body for sliding movement relative to the body along a first slide path extending generally normal to the longitudinal axis. A slide positioning member is provided for shifting the cutter carrying slide along the slide path between a retracted position and a cutting position. An anti-backlash device is also provided for establishing and maintaining firm contact between opposing surfaces of the slide and the slide positioning member during movement of the slide toward the cutting position. The anti-backlash device increases force urging the opposing surfaces into contact with each other as radial displacement increases between the slide and an axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 5086676
Abstract: A machine tool and method for simultaneously boring, facing and back boring three bores in a differential carrier with three tools that rotate coaxially with their spindle axes. Each tool has a first slide at its free end that carries a first cutting insert for back boring a first diameter and then generating a radial face that serves as a bearing seat on the differential carrier. Each tool also has a second slide carrying a second insert for boring a second diameter. The construction, arrangement and movement of the two slides are correlated with each other to maintain the tool in balance during extension and retraction of both slides. In the preferred embodiment the first insert must be retracted when it is advanced into the carrier, extended to back bore and then retracted to generate a radial face. The second insert is at the same location circumferentially of the tool. One insert is retracted while the other insert is extended, and vice versa, to maintain the tool in balance.
