  • Publication number: 20150184117
Abstract: A device for the accelerated aging of wine consisting of a low direct-current voltage applied to inert electrodes is described herein. The device improves the taste of many wines by accelerating the natural aging process which is primarily a free-radical-induced reaction involving the polymerization and precipitation of polyphenols such as tannins, thus reducing the astringency and improving the taste of many full bodied wines. The device can be miniaturized for use with single servings or scaled up to be applied to large commercial batches. The device has the added feature of being able to reduce the sulfite content of some wines, reducing foul tastes caused by free sulfur dioxide and possibly reducing negative reactions to sulfite for some users of wine.

  • Publication number: 20120297962
Abstract: A keytar is disclosed. The keytar has a keyboard body having a front, back, left side, and right side. A piano-style keyboard with a number of keys is on the front of the keyboard body. A neck extends from either the left or the right side and the left side of the keyboard body. A number of drum pads are on the front of the keyboard body. An electronic circuit is electrically connected to the drum pads and keys. The electronic circuit is configured and arranged to scan the state of each of the drum pads and keys and generate a MIDI note signal corresponding to the state each drum pad and keys and transmit the MIDI note signal to the tablet computer. The keytar may further include an accelerometer to provide music effects.

  • Publication number: 20120045699
Abstract: Methods and systems provide for the creation of power, water, and heat utilizing a fuel cell. According to embodiments described herein, fuel is provided to a fuel cell for the creation of power and a fuel byproduct. The fuel byproduct is routed to a byproduct separation phase of a power and water generation system, where water is separated from the fuel byproduct. The remaining mixture is reacted in a burner phase of the system to create additional heat that may be converted to mechanical energy and/or utilized with other processes within the system or outside of the system. According to other aspects, the separated water may be utilized within a biofuel production subsystem for the creation of biofuel to be used by the fuel cell.

  • Publication number: 20070297715
Abstract: A plurality of mask images defines an optical circuit image in photoresist. Each of the mask images comprises parts of the optical circuit and the totality of all mask images together defines an optical circuit. The optical circuit is thus made up of plural optical elements some of which may be positioned in drop-in locations within the boundary of another optical circuit element. A photolithography system globally aligns and exposes the mask images in photoresist. The resultant composite image is substantially indistinguishable from a single image of the entire optical circuit. Different images for each of the mask image parts can be substituted with other images or image parts and thereby exponentially increasing the number of circuit permutations from a predetermined number of available mask images. A unique optical circuit, for example, can be generated from a pre-existing library of reticle images. The images are printed in predetermined locations on a substrate to define the desired optical circuit.

  • Publication number: 20070017185
Abstract: A tie-off assembly for closing the neck of a bulk bag is provided and includes a motor located in a housing which drives a toothed drive wheel. A slot in the housing receives an end of a tie wrap which, upon insertion, is engaged by the toothed drive wheel to pull the tie wrap closed. At least one blade is mounted adjacent the slot, which is moveable from a first position, away from the slot, to a second, cutting position, adjacent the slot. In use, an end of a tie wrap located around the neck is inserted into the slot so that the tie wrap end is engaged by the toothed drive wheel, and operating the motor tightens the tie wrap about the neck of the bulk bag.
