Publication number: 20230055975Abstract: A device and method for creating and/or maintain an obstruction free upper airway passage. The device configured to fit under the chin of a subject adjacent to the subject's at an external location corresponding approximately with the subject's internal soft tissue associated with the neck's anterior triangle. The device including structural elements designed to optimize comfort, compliance and seal achieved through minimizing the pressure variation along the contact surface of the cushion element. The structural elements of the cushion may include a fluidly sealed chamber that may vary in thickness and width, a compressible elastic foam contained within the fluidly sealed chamber a ribbon layer backing the elastic foam contained within the fluidly sealed chamber and an adhesive layer disposed on the outer surface of the fluidly sealed chamber of the therapy device designed to contact the skin of the subject.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2022Publication date: February 23, 2023Applicant: SOMMETRICS, INC.Inventors: Jerome K. Aarestad, Kent Gandola, David Giuntoli, Jeff Mullally

Publication number: 20080071329Abstract: An electro-acupuncture device for controlling nausea. The device includes a wristwatch like housing, circuitry for generating electro-acupuncture stimulus disposed within the housing, and a strap for securing the housing to the wrist. The device also includes a pair of D-shaped electrodes disposed on the bottom outer surface of the housing. A gasket made of an electrically non-conductive material is applied to the bottom outer surface of the housing. The gasket has apertures which are sized and shaped to receive the D-shaped electrodes. When the device is strapped to a patient's wrist, the electrodes contact the wrist and provide electric stimulation to the wrist.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2007Publication date: March 20, 2008Inventors: David Giuntoli, Gregory Gruzdowich, Thomas Grey

Patent number: 6230662Abstract: A method of transporting and lifting a large immobile animal for treatment of the animal includes transporting the animal with a transport cart and lifting the animal with a lift. The transport cart includes a generally rectangular collapsible frame having a front frame member pivotally attached to a rear frame member. A set of wheels are attached to the rear frame member for rolling movement of the cart. A handle is pivotally attached to the front frame member. A removable support sheet is carried by the frame. The lift includes a base supported by wheels for rolling movement of the lift, a lowered generally rectangular support frame, a generally rectangular support sheet carried by the generally rectangular support frame, a frame lifting mechanism disposed between the base and the frame, and a driving mechanism coupled to the lifting mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1999Date of Patent: May 15, 2001Inventors: Theresa Miale, Gloria Miale, David Giuntoli, Tom Bailey

Patent number: 5123984Abstract: In a high speed method and apparatus for forming inlet and/or outlet ports in drip irrigation hose, the surface of one margin of a continuous length of plastic film is deformed without puncturing at periodic intervals along its length corresponding to the locations of the inlet and/or outlet ports to form protrusions from the film surface. Thereafter, the protrusions are severed from the film to form the ports. The remainder of the hose is made in a conventional fashion. Preferably, the film surface is deformed by directing the film through the nip of pair of rotating wheels. On the surface of one of the wheels is a series of blunt projections sized, shaped and positioned to correspond to the ports being formed. The protrusions are severed by the edge of a knife across which the film is directed.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1990Date of Patent: June 23, 1992Assignee: T-Systems International, Inc.Inventors: Davies Allport, David Giuntoli, William F.
