  • Patent number: 11977585
Abstract: A system and method for collaborative activity support is provided. A server establishes a collaboration place that is accessible by a plurality of remote clients and supports a plurality of collaboration activities. The server can be configured to provide primary display data to each of a plurality of client computers associated with the authorized users simultaneously accessing the collaboration place to cause each of the plurality of clients to display the primary display data in a primary display of a corresponding collaboration place interface. Responsive to detecting a request from a first collaboration place interface at a first client computer of the plurality of client computers to include a secondary display with the primary display in the corresponding collaboration place interface, wherein the secondary display is configured to display collaboration place data associated with a different collaborative activity than the primary display prior to escalation.

  • Patent number: 10108613
Abstract: A system and method for collaborative activity support is provided. A server establishes a collaboration place that is accessible by a plurality of remote clients and supports a plurality of collaboration activities. Data is generated based on at least one event associated with a collaborative activity and stored as a content item. The content item is accessed to generate at least a portion of the searchable attributes of the data based on the contents of the content item. The server enables a first client data connection from a first client computer to the data to provide a first client user access to the data and a second client data connection from a second client computer to the data to provide a second client user access to the data and the searchable attributes of the data.

  • Patent number: 10025450
Abstract: A system and method for generating activity summaries to users of a social network server is disclosed. User activity information is received by a user activity information receiver module. The user activity information is then categorized by a categorization module, which in some implementations, also groups the categorized user activity information in accordance with commonalities identified among the user activity information. The categorized user activity information is ranked according to relevance to the user by the ranking module or according to relevance to the user's contacts. An output generation module 308 determines when the groupings are complete. Activity summaries are then generated by the output generation module. The activity summary includes the categorized user activity information. The activity summary is sent for display on a user device of a user.

  • Patent number: 9183515
Abstract: In one aspect, a system for presenting a share box with content information in response to an endorsement includes an endorsement sharing module that is responsive to user input and creates a sharing box having content derived from the user context and input request. The endorsement sharing module receives a user request to share information. In response, this endorsement sharing module determines the context of the user, retrieves content based on the context, filters the content based on publisher information, personalizes the share box content, and adds the content to a share box. The endorsement sharing module also adds one or more actions to the share box after which the share box is provided for display to the user.

  • Patent number: 8995260
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing load in a communication network are provided. At a processor of a relay device, a number of messages is determined that are one or more of currently queued for relay via a communication interface of the relay device and previously relayed within a given time period, the communication interface and the processor of the relay device for relaying the messages, via the communication interface, between a plurality of devices and a network infrastructure. At the processor, a rate at which the plurality of devices establishes communications with the network infrastructure is controlled, wherein there is an inverse relationship between the rate and the number of messages.

  • Patent number: 8976648
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for managing load on service devices in a communication network are provided. At a processor of a relay device, it is determined that the service devices are available after being unavailable, the relay device comprising a communication interface and a processor for relaying messages, via the communication interface, between a communication device and the service devices. In response, the processor blocks incoming messages associated with a subset of the service devices, the incoming messages from the at least one communication device.

  • Patent number: 8972841
Abstract: The invention includes structures and schema for organizing and inter-relating objects, data, or files, including relational, network, hierarchical, and entity-relationship models, among others, that are dynamic, that is changing with time. This includes manipulating structures by conversion, compression, compaction, and compilation, for various purposes. Also included is generating structures for storing, organizing, and managing dynamic objects for retrieval and presentation. A discussion group for collaborative participants is also provided. A time-based dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects is stored. Each dynamic objects comprises a plurality of predefined attribute fields. Requested dynamic objects are assembled in real time so that the requested dynamic objects are displayed on the basis of the start-time attribute field of each requested dynamic object.
