  • Publication number: 20240071093
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to time-division multiple access scanning for crosstalk mitigation in light detection and ranging (lidar) devices. An example embodiment includes a method. The method includes emitting a first group of light signals into a surrounding environment. The first group of light signals corresponds to a first angular resolution. The method also includes detecting, during a first listening window, a first group of reflected light signals. Additionally, the method includes emitting a second group of light signals into the surrounding environment. The second group of light signals corresponds to a second angular resolution with respect to the surrounding environment. The second angular resolution is lower than the first angular resolution. Further, the method includes detecting a second group of reflected light signals from the surrounding environment. In addition, the method includes synthesizing, by a controller of the lidar device, a dataset usable to generate one or more point clouds.

  • Patent number: 9640908
Abstract: An alignment apparatus is coupled to an accessory module that is rotatably attachable to an electronic device. The alignment apparatus includes a pivot mounting member and a connector retaining member movably coupled to the pivot mounting member. The connector retaining member is rigidly coupled to a connector. The connector retaining member moves the connector with respect to the pivot mounting member to a predetermined angle. The predetermined angle aligns the connector with a connecting mate on the electronic device in an approximately parallel position while the accessory module is rotating for attachment onto the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20160269481
Abstract: An improved scalable object storage system includes methods and systems allowing multiple clusters to work together. In one embodiment, there is a multi-cluster synchronization system between two or more clusters. Each cluster has a cluster-internal network, with object storage services and container services. The container services track and replicate metadata associated with the object storage service. An intercluster network connects the two clusters and performs a one-way synchronization of the objects and metadata associated with a particular container. This can be done either through the direct association of the container and object storage services, such as through a trust and federation relationship, or it can be opaque, so that the cross-cluster replication treats the remote repository as a black box and uses the external API to call and manipulate the files.

  • Patent number: 8930489
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention includes a method for performing rate limiting in a horizontally distributed and scalable manner. The method includes receiving a request in a rate limiter. In turn, a sleep time can be obtained for the request based at least in part on a time value and an allotted time per request, and the request can be delayed according to the sleep time. The time value can be obtained from a distributed key value store using a key generated from the request. After this sleep time, the request can be forwarded from the rate limiter to the handling server.
