  • Publication number: 20200103836
Abstract: A system for generating actionable plant tasks from multiple operational data sources includes a computing device including an associated memory configured for receiving operational data associated with the plant from ?2 devices in the plant, where the operational data includes one or more alerts associated with problem(s) that have occurred at the plant. At least one numerical confidence value relating to a reliability is assigned to each operational data, at least one numerical importance value relating to importance is assigned to an operation of the plant to each operational data. The operational data is analyzed to determine correlations between different portions of the operational data, and based on the confidence values and the importance values at least one task associated with resolving the problem is determined, an action associated with the task is determined, and then an indication relating to the action is transmitted to another computing device.

  • Patent number: 8983630
Abstract: An automated event viewing method for a process control network that includes a plurality of distributed control system (DCS) servers that receive process event data from one or more industrial processes, wherein each DCS server is connected to one or more operator consoles for monitoring the one or more industrial processes. The method includes receiving process event data of the industrial processes in real time from the plurality of DCS servers and transmitting in real time the process event data of the industrial processes to one or more operator consoles that are not connected to the DCS server from which the process event data originated.

  • Patent number: 8429654
Abstract: A controller controls one or more process elements in a process control system. The controller also generates and buffers multiple events associated with operation of the controller. Each event is associated with a unique identifier, such as a numerical identifier. A supervisory device receives at least some of the events from the controller. The supervisory device determines if any of the events have not been received from the controller based on the unique identifiers. The supervisory device also initiates an event recovery if at least one of the events has not been received from the controller. During the event recovery, the controller recovers at least one event, such as any event having a numerical identifier greater than a numerical identifier identified by the supervisory device. The controller communicates the at least one recovered event to the supervisory device during the event recovery.

  • Patent number: 7876211
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system are provided that receive an alarm record and compare the alarm record to a suppression description that describes an alarm to be suppressed. A suppression flag of the received alarm record is set in accordance with a result of the comparison. A suppression trigger message may be received and compared to the suppression description. The suppression description may be enabled in accordance with the result of the suppression trigger message comparison and the alarm record compared to the suppression description only if the suppression description is enabled.
