  • Patent number: 7817583
Abstract: In one embodiment, a map describing a correct configuration attribute for communicatively coupling a storage area network device with another device is accessed. An actual configuration attribute of the storage area network device is requested. The actual configuration attribute of the storage area network device is then compared to the correct configuration of the storage area network device and a result is generated in response to the comparing.

  • Publication number: 20100049030
Abstract: Radiation therapy of a lesion within a patient is guided to take into account movement of the lesion caused by respiration and/or cardiac effects by using MRI to image the patient while on the treatment support to obtain a series of images of a location of the lesion within the patient while obtaining data relating to respiration and/or cardiac function of the patient to generate lesion movement data as a function of respiration and/or cardiac function. After the magnet is removed from the bunker, during the radiation therapy, real time data relating to respiration and/or cardiac function of the patient is used to guide the radiation therapy using the lesion movement data obtained during the imaging.

  • Publication number: 20090095270
Abstract: An archery release aid for drawing the string of a bow using a substantially rigid cuff mounted on an archer's upper arm above the elbow comprising a substantially rigid cuff, a strap to transmit pulling force, and a means for attaching said archery release aid to known bow-string arrow trigger release devices. This archery release aid increases pull-force by relying on strength from the archer's upper arm and back instead of the lower arm and hand, and increases stability and shot accuracy by freeing the archer's hand and wrist from tension during release. Moving the point of pull above the elbow provides better leverage to the archer that allows him to pull a bow more easily or to pull a stronger bow than he would otherwise be able to pull. As the wrist is freed from tension the archer is better able to control release of the trigger, resulting in better consistency and accuracy of arrow placement.

  • Publication number: 20080039712
Abstract: A patient imaging system includes a patient support table, an MRI system including a cylindrical magnet and a PET system including positron detectors mounted in a ring. The magnet defines a cylindrical bore for receiving the patient on the table where the magnet is mounted for rotation about a vertical axis on a slew ring carried on rails allowing longitudinal movement. The PET ring is mounted in the bore for longitudinal movement. The quench tube for the magnet passes through the slew ring with a rotary union at the axis. The shielding covers include a fixed upper part and a lower part which rotates about the axis with the magnet. The magnet is arranged in a two or three room diagnostic configuration in which a holding bay houses the magnet and the diagnostic patients are organized in the three rooms each cooperating with the magnet bay as the magnet is rotated.

  • Publication number: 20070111204
Abstract: The invention provides methods and diagnostic test kits for detecting target nucleic acid sequence variations in a sample. In particular, a plurality of oligonucleotide probe sets is provided. Each set has a target specific portion and a barcode. The target specific portions of the probes are suitable for ligation together when hybridized adjacent to one another on a corresponding target polynucleotide. The ligated product contains a barcode that binds to a probe attached to a substrate and hence facilitate the capture of the ligated product on the solid support. Detection is carried out with a gold nanoparticle-attached barcode that hybridizes with the barcode on the ligated product.

  • Publication number: 20070094670
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to providing emergency mode plan generation in a utility computing environment (UCE). In one embodiment, information that describes criticality of applications is received. Information is received that indicates one or more resources assigned for use by one or more of the applications can no longer be used by the applications to which the resources are assigned. A plan is automatically generated that indicates whether resources assigned for use by a first application can be used by a second application instead of the first application based on the criticality of the applications, wherein the one or more resources are managed by a UCE.

  • Publication number: 20070088195
Abstract: A method of using an imaging catheter for activating (curing) a photodynamic polymer/adhesive is provided. The method generally includes four steps. First, an imaging catheter including a fiber optic cable is inserted within a body cavity or vessel. The fiber optic cable has a first end (e.g., proximal end) and a second end (e.g., distal end), and is configured to transmit electromagnetic irradiation from its first end to its second end and to transmit an image from its second end to its first end. Second, an image of a site of interest (e.g., the location of an aneurysm) within the body cavity or vessel is observed using the fiber optic cable. Third, a suitable photodynamic polymer/adhesive material is applied to the site of interest. Fourth, the fiber optic cable is used to deliver a selected wavelength or wavelength range of electromagnetic energy to the site to thereby cure the photodynamic polymer/adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7096350
Abstract: A method and system for verifying resource configuration. Specifically, in one embodiment, the method begins by reading a map outlining a plurality of valid configuration attributes. The configuration attributes are associated with a plurality of computing resources that are interrelated in a network. The plurality of computing resources is then contacted and a plurality of actual configuration attributes from the plurality of computing resources is requested. Thereafter, the plurality of actual configuration attributes is compared to a plurality of corresponding valid configuration attributes provided from the map. A plurality of messages detailing results from the comparison of actual to valid configuration attributes is then generated.

  • Publication number: 20060182041
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a method and an apparatus for automatic verification of a zone configuration of a plurality of network switches. In one method embodiment, the present invention accesses an actual zone configuration comprising a plurality of network switching devices, the actual zone configuration for defining the switching devices which are actually part of the zone. Additionally, a machine-readable map of the network is accessed, the map providing a pre-determined zone configuration defining the switching devices which should be part of the zone. An automatic verification is performed, wherein the verification verifies that the actual zone configuration of network switching devices correlates with the pre-determined zone configuration defined by the machine-readable map.

  • Publication number: 20060178695
Abstract: An implantable vessel filter having an integrated sensing capability for monitoring the condition of the vessel filter. In one variation, the vessel filter comprises a plurality of legs that would themselves perform as a sensor device for detecting distention, which would indicate the presence of a clot or thrombus therein. A passive electrical circuit may be implemented on the vessel filter to receive electromagnetic energy and transmit signals indicative of the condition of the implanted vessel filter. In another variation, a miniaturized sensor is adapted for measuring the strain and/or other physical parameters of the filter legs.

  • Publication number: 20060072592
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to methods and systems for verifying network routing information are described. In one embodiment, a machine-readable map that describes a network route associated with a network router is accessed. The network router is accessed in order to obtain network routing information describing a network route. The machine-readable map is compared with the network routing information. A determination is made as to whether there are any differences between the machine-readable map and the network routing information. If there are any differences, a report that includes messages describing the differences is generated.

  • Publication number: 20060030753
Abstract: A steerable imaging catheter is provided, including an elongated catheter tube, at least one steering cable extending along the catheter tube to control the movement of the distal end thereof, and a fiber optic cable extending along the catheter tube. The fiber optic cable transmits illumination light from its proximal end to its distal end and transmits an image from its distal end to its proximal end. In one embodiment, two or more steering cables are used, and the catheter tube is configured to have greater flexibility near its distal end than its proximal end so as to concentrate the movement (flexing) of the catheter tube at its distal end. The use of two or more steering cables, together with the catheter tube having varying flexibility, permit better control of the distal end of the catheter tube while reducing undue twisting of the remainder of the catheter tube.
