Publication number: 20140173630Abstract: The techniques described herein implement an operating system that can reliably process time sensitive information in non real-time manner. Thus, the operating system described herein is capable of processing an instance of time sensitive input during a time period after the instance of time sensitive input is received (e.g., at a future point in time). To accomplish this, the techniques timestamp each instance of time sensitive input when it is received at a device. The techniques then store the timestamped instance of time sensitive input in a temporary queue, and make the timestamped instance available to the operating system at a time period after the time period when it is received, as indicated by the timestamp. Additional techniques described herein prioritize the activation of a driver configured to receive the time sensitive information during a boot sequence or a reboot sequence.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2012Publication date: June 19, 2014Applicant: Itron, Inc.Inventors: Samuel Lee Whitfield, Gregory Shane Barrett, Michael Clarence Miller, Kevin David Guthrie

Patent number: 8437973Abstract: A self calibrating cable, including a USB3 cable, with a boost device of the embodiment of the invention is described, in which parameters that control the response of the boost device are set optimally in a self-calibrating process comprising looping the boosted cable on itself through a calibration fixture that contains a calibration control device. The boost device includes pattern generators and a sampling circuit. Each high speed channel of the cable is separately tested and calibrated with the help of one of the other channels serving as a sampling channel. Additional embodiments provide for a selected replica boost device and a distinct pattern generator device in the calibration fixture. Publication number: 20110253024Abstract: An anchor comprising a container having: a size of at least 3 m×3 m×3 m; a plurality of chambers; at least one valve in each chamber to selectively allow and prevent fluid communication between each chamber and a surrounding environment. Exemplary embodiments also include pressure release valves provided the chambers. The pressure release valves are adapted to allow transfer of fluid between the chamber and the environment when the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the chamber exceeds a predetermined level such as 0.5 bar or 1 bar; typically to allow fluid release from the chamber when the pressure inside the chamber exceeds the pressure outside the chamber by a predetermined level. A method of deploying and manufacturing are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 23, 2010Publication date: October 20, 2011Inventors: John Offord, David Guthrie

Publication number: 20110142235Abstract: A telecommunication system includes a processor, interfaces in communication with the public telephone network and a data network, respectively, and a memory. The memory comprises executable instructions that when executed by the processor direct the system to controllably permit access to a teleconference bridge in response to a communication from a mobile-communication device that includes information responsive to a previously communicated license key. Generally, the communication is in the form of a call from the user of the mobile-communication device. Upon receipt of the call, the telecommunication system confirms that the mobile-communication device communicates a pass code that was included in an encrypted form in the license key.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2011Publication date: June 16, 2011Applicant: American Teleconferencing Services, Ltd.Inventors: Randolph J. Leigh, Thomas Ray Miller, David Guthrie, J. Scott Tapp

Patent number: 7624114Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for creating Web forms with automatically generated links. A database mapping for a database is accessed. One or more dynamic queries for querying a database are automatically formulated. The dynamic queries are included in an automatically generated Web site for the database in accordance with the database mapping. User-selected links are also included for executed the dynamic queries. Selection of a link causes a corresponding dynamic query to execute. Relationships between tables in a database can be inferred even when a relationship is not expressly described in schema describing the database. Dynamic queries can be any of sorting, pagination, addition, deletion, and modification queries.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2006Date of Patent: November 24, 2009Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Polita Mila Paulus, Bradley D. Patent number: 7389471Abstract: Web pages that share a common layout and/or functionality are associated with at least one master page and at least one endpoint page. Each master page specifies a common layout and/or functionality that are intended to be shared between the web pages. The master pages also include content place holders that identify content segments that are intended to be replaced by content that is obtained from the at least one endpoint page. When a client system requests one of the web pages, the server system merges the appropriate master page and endpoint page into a resulting page that can be rendered as the requested web page by the client system. This enables web pages sharing common features to be created automatically, in real-time, and transparently to the client system, and without having to redundantly store duplicative content for each of the web pages at the server system.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2003Date of Patent: June 17, 2008Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Joseph K. Publication number: 20070219991Abstract: A system and method for providing a user with a customized data based on the user profile. A system comprises a server that collects electronic data based on the user profile. The server then generates a checksum of the collected data and sends it to the user. Based on the checksum, the user notifies the server of the data that has been previously sent. In response, the server sends to the user data that has not been previously sent to the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Inventor: David Guthrie
