  • Patent number: 11919025
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a foamed mixture of paints on a structural surface. A continuous stream of high velocity gas moves through a nozzle and is directed toward the structural surface, and two or more paints may be intermittently moved into the gas stream of the nozzle and aerated and mixed with each other and moved with the gas stream to form a foam that is applied to the structural surface. The components of the foamed mixture may include single component or plural component materials such as polyurethane foam, adhesive, and polyurea formulations, and may be moved through a volumetric metering device consisting of material heaters, a heated hose, and an applicator gun. The nitrogen gas stream fluidizes the mixture as it passes through and out of the nozzle and forms the mixture into a foam that is applied to the structural surface.

  • Publication number: 20230405616
Abstract: Various examples are provided related to low pressure delivery, e.g., less than 250 psi at the point of application, of plural component system from unpressurized parts A and B material supplies. In one example, a system includes a polyurethane spray foam (“SPF”) raw material supply including parts A and B and a fluid handling system that can deliver the SPF raw material at low pressure to a metal spray gun in metered amounts through separate material fluid paths/conduits via a heated hose length and a whip hose. The fluid handling system can also deliver air at low pressure to the spray gun through separate air stream paths so that the air is communicated to the part A and B material conduits forward of the part A and B material input locations, where they are supplied separately to a mixing nozzle that is engaged at an end of the spray gun.

  • Publication number: 20090031660
Abstract: The present invention is an insulated pitched roof system for a sloped deck in which an insulating component is adhered to the sloped deck and the roof tiles are adhered to the insulating component with an adhesive, preferably a polymer adhesive. The insulating component includes a board or sheet material which is adhered to the roof deck. The insulating component is preferably adhered directly to the roof deck with a polymer adhesive. The insulating component preferably includes interlocking sides for forming a water tight connection between adjacently joined insulating components. Additionally, the insulating components include an end lap portion to form an overlapping portion between adjacent rows of insulating components. In a preferred embodiment, the overlapping portion is adhered together to form a unitary insulative and waterproof layer.

  • Patent number: 7316099
Abstract: The present invention is a spaced sheathing roofing system and method in which roof cladding is placed onto batten strips positioned on roof rafters. The roof cladding is attached using an adhesive. The attachment component is preferably a polymer adhesive, more preferably a polyurethane, for adhering the roof cladding. The adhesive is preferably sprayed onto the lower surface of the placed roof cladding while also being sprayed onto the batten strips and the supporting truss rafters. The sprayed adhesive bonds the adjacent roof cladding together and also bonds the roof cladding to the batten strips to form a monolithic structure. In addition, the sprayed layer of adhesive forms an insulative layer while also forming a waterproof barrier.

  • Patent number: 6164021
Abstract: A hip and ridge roof sealing and attachment system including a polyurethane foam adhesive first applied in a space between adjacent roof tiles along a hip or ridge of the roof. The first application of the polyurethane foam adhesive fills the space between the adjacent roof tiles. The polyurethane foam adhesive applied in a second application to adhere a lower surface of a hip or ridge tile to the first application of polyurethane foam adhesive and the adjacent roof tiles. The method of installing the hip and ridge roofing system includes the steps of applying a first layer of urethane foam adhesive in the space between adjacent roof tiles at a hip or ridge of a roof and adhering a hip or ridge tile to the first layer of urethane foam adhesive.
