  • Patent number: 8156768
Abstract: An article of hosiery having a toe seam has been developed. The hosiery includes a foot portion and a first circumferential toe portion having a first stitch length. A second circumferential toe portion can be adjacent the first toe portion. The second circumferential toe portion has at least two knitted courses with each of the at least two knitted courses having a second stitch length that is less than the first stitch length. There is at least one thread in the first circumferential toe portion that forms the toe seam.

  • Patent number: 7389787
Abstract: A system is provided that monitors at the wellsite injection of additives into formation fluids recovered through wellbores and controls the supply of such additives from remote locations. The selected additive is supplied from a source at the wellsite into the wellbore via a suitable supply line. A flow meter in the supply line measures the flow rate of the additive through the supply line and generates signals representative of the flow rate. A controller at the wellsite determines the flow rate from the flow meter signals and in response thereto controls the flow rate of the additive to the well. The wellsite controller interfaces with a suitable two-way communication link and transmits signals and data representative of the flow rate and other parameters to a second remote controller. The remote controller transmits command signals to the wellsite controller representative of any change desired for the flow rate.

  • Patent number: 6779472
Abstract: An apparatus and method for closing the toe of a hosiery blank includes a hosiery toe closing machine including a sewing head having a sewing needle and a toe seam width guide. The toe seam width guide has a maximum thread guide width greater than 5 mm, preferably in the range of 6-10 mm. When the sewing needle pulls a thread around the maximum thread guide width of the toe seam width guide, the hosiery toe is closed with a wide, visible seam. The hosiery toe closing machine can include a first sewing head having a maximum thread guide width of 5 mm, for sewing a first, narrow seam, and a second sewing head having a maximum thread guide width greater than 5 mm, allowing a second seam that is wider than the first seam to be sewn over the first seam. The toe seam width guides are adjustably attached to the sewing heads for adjusting the effective thread guide width in the respective sewing heads and thereby provide corresponding adjustments to the relative widths of the first and second seams.

  • Patent number: 4136376
Abstract: An electrically insulative adhesive coating for a circuit board used with a photoflash lamp array to provide sequential firing of the flash lamps. The circuit board includes the lamp firing circuitry along with switching elements connected in said circuitry and the insulative coating prevents electrical shorting of the circuitry. In a preferred embodiment, the coating material may be an organic polymer and may be provided with openings to permit radiation transfer from the flashing lamps to the underlying switches which are radiation-responsive.
