  • Patent number: 4862838
Abstract: A crankcase oil spray nozzle for cooling the crown of a piston of an internal combustion engine is assembled from relatively few stamped principal housing components which are assembled in a sandwich-like, low-profile configuration. The components cooperate to form a nozzle passageway which extends from an integrally formed well to the nozzle orifice. The well houses a check valve assembly. The nozzle components cooperate to define an internal edge filter.

  • Patent number: 4860713
Abstract: A fuel conditioner unit generally comprising a vertically oriented frame on either side of which are connected first and second filter housings, defining first and second filter chambers, for containing water separating and particle removing filter elements, respectively. An inlet is provided for introducing fuel from outside the unit to the first chamber, where water is separated and directed downwardly. The dewatered fuel is then transferred to the upper portion of the second chamber, where it moves downwardly over the particulate filter and is drawn out of the unit from an outlet port. A drain port is provided for discharging the water that is separated from the fuel in the first chamber. A vent can be provided in the upper portion of the second chamber for removing air that rises from the fuel as the fuel travels downwardly through the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 4126557
Abstract: A totally enclosed fuel oil filter housing having a fuel inlet nipple and a fuel outlet nipple is assembled on a mounting bracket with the nipples extending through hexagonal apertures in the mounting bracket. The inlet and outlet nipples are threaded to couple connecting fuel lines and are of different sizes to prevent a reversal of the connections. The nipples have hexagonal peripheries which mate the apertures so that torsional forces during coupling are transmitted to the bracket rather than to the seals between the nipples and the filter housing, and the apertures of the mounting bracket are formed by being drawn out of the plane of the base of the mounting bracket to project therefrom. The side walls of the housing has inwardly directed ribs and a bead of sealant spans each rib to localize the pressure between the side walls of the housing and the accordion pleated filter medium through the sealant bead to assure a void-free seal therebetween.
