The pressure deck includes longitudinal beams extending in a forward and aft direction between an aft wheel well bulkhead and a rear spar of the aircraft. The pressure deck also includes a web attached to an underside of the longitudinal beams. The web includes a flat web portion supported by transverse stiffeners extending in an inboard and outboard direction, and a curved web portion including arches configured to flex laterally from load in the inboard and outboard direction. A transition between the flat web portion and the curved web portion extends at least partially in the forward and aft direction of the aircraft.

The pressure deck further includes a first intercostal outboard from the box structure and configured to stabilize a first outboard pair of the beams, and a second intercostal outboard from the first intercostal and coupled between a second outboard pair of the beams via a swing link to allow the second intercostal to flex laterally.

    Abstract: A joint joining an aircraft wing to an aircraft body employs a splice panel that is engaged in surface engagement with a skin panel on a side of the aircraft body and is engaged in surface engagement with a leg panel extending upwardly from the aircraft wing. A plurality of fasteners extend through the splice panel and the leg panel and extend through the splice panel and the skin panel. The plurality of fasteners attach the splice panel to the skin panel and attach the splice panel to the leg panel and thereby attach the skin panel to the leg panel. After fastener holes have been drilled through the splice panel and the leg panel to attach the splice panel to the leg panel, the splice panel can be removed from the leg panel. This provides easy access to the fastener holes drilled through the leg panel for deburring of the fastener holes.

    Abstract: An arched gutter that can be used to channel moisture within an aircraft can include an arched web including a plurality of laterally spaced arches. The plurality of arches impart a flexibility to the arched gutter such that the arched gutter has an increased resistance to fatigue cracking and other wear and damage resulting from, for example, parasitic loads due to high bending strains that are transferred to the arched gutter by a wing to which the arched gutter is attached during operation of the aircraft. An aircraft section and an aircraft including the arched gutter are also described.
