  • Publication number: 20190172040
Abstract: A point of sale system capable of operating in an indicia-reading mode or a verification mode is disclosed. In the indicia-reading mode, the point of sale system configures its illumination, imaging, and processing to read indicia as part of a normal checkout process. If triggered by a user or by an event, the point of sale system may operate in a verification mode. In the verification mode, the point of sale system enables the necessary illumination, imaging, and processing to verify an item. This verification includes illuminating the item in a way that causes a noticeable response from a security mark (or marks) on the item. An image of the response may be captured and processed to authenticate/verify the item. The point of sale system may then respond to the verification and/or may store the image/results as a record of the verification.

  • Patent number: 9723481
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for activating a purchased or previously deployed device by a subscriber. In one embodiment, activation includes authenticating the device to a service provider or carrier, and providing the device with data necessary for enabling the service to the device. In one variant, a user device is activated at a retail store, with the assistance of a carrier representative. In another variant, user equipment is activated via a communications network without the assistance of a representative. In yet another variant, the user equipment is activated via the Internet without the assistance of a representative. The provision of access data includes pre-assigning eSIM from a population of unassigned eSIMs to certain devices for various carrier networks. Alternatively, the eSIM may be assigned on an as-needed basis. Unassigned and/or unused eSIMs can be released (or sold back to the vendor) and/or reused. Solutions for eSIM backup and restoration are also described.

  • Publication number: 20090125826
Abstract: Systems and methods for a design and runtime environment provide navigation maps using a declarative model defined by recording actual manipulation of a physical or virtual device. The systems and methods may be used to automatically navigate to application screens eliminating need for a test engineer to provide navigation code.

  • Publication number: 20040081346
Abstract: A computerized method and system for non-intrusive testing of an information processing system. This includes stimulating a system-under-test, capturing an image from the system-under-test visual output and one or more of the following: converting the captured image to a grey-scale bitmap, deriving pixel patterns from sub-portions of the captured image, normalizing the derived pixel patterns, scoring pixels in a pixel pattern according to color intensity, comparing pixel patterns with graphical object definitions, and finding and outputting matches taking into consideration tolerances for color, resolution, object spacing and overlap, and font kerning variation. The output is optionally a text string representing the recognized text within the captured image. The method and system also automatically learns new graphical object definitions when appropriately provided with graphical objects.
