  • Patent number: 5929098
Abstract: Novel N-acetonylbenzamides are disclosed. These compounds are useful in controlling phytopathogenic fungi.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1997
Date of Patent: July 27, 1999
    Assignee: Rohm and Haas Company
Inventors: Enrique Luis Michelotti, David Hamilton Young
  • Patent number: 5891918
Abstract: A method for controlling phytopathogenic fungi is disclosed. The method uses a fungicidal composition which has been found to be effective against strains of fungi which are resistant to benzimidazole fungicides. When combined with one or more of benzimidazole, thiophanate, or dicarboximide fungicides, and applied to a mixed population of sensitive and resistant fungi, the fungicidal compound of the present invention is more effective against the mixed population of fungi than either of the fungicidal compounds alone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1997
Date of Patent: April 6, 1999
    Assignee: Rohm and Haas Company
Inventors: Enrique Luis Michelotti, David Hamilton Young, James Allen Quinn
  • Patent number: 5866513
Abstract: Disclosed are herbicidal aryl substituted cycloalkyl and aryl substituted cycloalkenyl compounds, herbicidal compositions, and herbicidal use of the compounds and compositions. The aryl substituent is selected from substituted phenyl, unsubstituted or substituted five-membered heterocycle, and unsubstituted or substituted six-membered heterocycle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 25, 1997
Date of Patent: February 2, 1999
    Assignee: Rohm and Haas Company

  • Patent number: 5811427
Abstract: Certain N-acetonylbenzamides and their use as fungicides are disclosed. The N-acetonylbenzamides disclosed contain a heterocyclic ring fused to an aromatic ring. These compounds are particularly effective against phytopathogenic fungi of the class Oomycetes. Also disclosed is a method for controlling phytopathogenic fungi by applying one or more of the heterocyclic N-acetonylbenzamides of the present invention, optionally with one or more additional fungicidal compounds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1997
Date of Patent: September 22, 1998
    Assignee: Rohm and Haas Company
Inventors: Enrique Luis Michelotti, David Hamilton Young
  • Patent number: 5741793
Abstract: Fungitoxic compositions exhibiting synergistic effects in the control of fungal growth are disclosed. The compounds are based on the combination of fatty acids and derivatives thereof with pyridazinones, and exhibit a greater than expected inhibitory effect against growth of fungi. The compounds are useful for agricultural applications including control of plant diseases, and also in control of mammalian fungal growth.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 13, 1996
Date of Patent: April 21, 1998
    Assignee: Rohm and Haas Company
Inventors: David Hamilton Young, Ronald Ross, Jr., Richard Andrew Slawecki
  • Patent number: 5677333
Abstract: A method for controlling phytopathogenic fungi comprises applying a selected fungicidally active N-acetonylbenzamide compound and a second fungicidally active compound selected from the group consisting of manganese-zinc ethylenebis(dithiocarbamate), manganese ethylenebis(dithiocarbamate), zinc ammoniate ethylenebis(dithiocarbamate), zinc ethylenebis(dithiocarbamate), 2-cyano-N-((ethylamino)carbonyl)-2-(methoxyimino)acetamide, and (E,Z) 4-(3-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)acryloyl)morpholine to plant seed, to plant foliage or to a plant growth medium and provides higher fungicidal activity than separate use of the same compounds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 8, 1996
