Publication number: 20200361374Abstract: A vehicle includes an alarm system for producing an alarm signal in response to reversing of the vehicle. The system includes a device including a memory for storing a plurality of selectable discrete digital data signals, each of which when applied to a sounder of the system operates the sounder to produce a sound pattern which is different to the sound patterns produced by the other selectable discrete digital data signals when applied to the sounder. A microprocessor controls the operation of the system. A pseudo-random number generator generates random numbers so that the discrete digital data signals stored in the memory can be randomly selected each time reverse gear is selected in the vehicle. A sensor mounted on the gearbox of the vehicle produces an activation signal on a reverse gear being selected which is read by the microprocessor.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2018Publication date: November 19, 2020Inventors: John HEGARTY, David HEGARTY

Patent number: 9419931Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to event notifications on an end-user device of events that are important to a user of the device. The user is typically subscribed to a service that pulls events from a plurality of sources indicated by the user. The sources include a native address book on the device, a social network(s), a professional network(s), and/or another remote location(s) on the Internet. Around the occurrence of an event, the service allows for automatically generating an electronic wish and for purchasing a gift to be presented to one or more recipients associated with the event. The service can transmit the content in various forms and can include a monetizing scheme. The service is able to intelligently determine which events are important to the user such to alert the user of only those relevant events, and to intelligently select an appropriate channel for transmitting the content.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2014Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: Synchronoss Technologies, IncInventors: Rajesh Khandewale, David Hegarty

Patent number: 6173936Abstract: An adherable document support stand for removably mounting a document holder includes a support body fitted with a through receiving mortise. The support body is adherable at either side of a video display monitor and positions the through mortise in a forward facing direction. A document holder includes a copyholder, a dual ball and socket assembly, and an engageable support arm for mounting and securing the document holder on the support body. The support arm includes a frictionally engageable portion which is slidably received by an entry opening of the receiving mortise so that the document holder may be secured to the support body. The stand allows the copyholder to be slidably mounted or removed and, once mounted, to be extended or retracted by its user and to be adjusted laterally, vertically and universally with respect to its rotational position.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1998Date of Patent: January 16, 2001Inventor: David Hegarty
