  • Publication number: 20240141175
Abstract: Water solvated polymeric dyes having a deep ultraviolet excitation spectrum are provided. The subject polymeric dyes include a light harvesting multichromophore having conjugation-modifying repeat units incorporated into the polymer backbone to provide segments of ?-conjugated co-monomers having limited ?-conjugation between segments. Polymeric tandem dyes are also provided that further include a signaling chromophore covalently linked to the multichromophore in energy-receiving proximity therewith. Also provided are labelled specific binding members that include the subject water solvated polymeric dyes. Methods of evaluating a sample for the presence of a target analyte and methods of labelling a target molecule in which the subject polymeric dyes find use are also provided. Systems and kits for practicing the subject methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060109745
Abstract: The probability of detection of an underwater moving target is enhanced by the selective summing of a multiplicity of reverberation suppressed, moving target detections, each appearing in a different and non-overlapping, narrow frequency band of a unitary, broadband transmission. The motion-sensitive target echoes are the result of a multiple-pulse broadband (SONAR) transmission. These broadband received echoes are bandpass filtered to form a set of narrow (e.g., 50 Hz) frequency bands extending over the full bandwidth of the transmission. These narrow band returns are then matched-filtered against a set of moving target replicas. Selected ones of these band-limited, matched-filtered returns are then summed together. The summed result can contribute to an enhanced probability that a unitary, moving target has been detected.

  • Patent number: 6722968
Abstract: An attachment for a bench grinder having at least one grinding surface, a tool rest fastener and a tool rest is described. The attachment includes a tool-receiving plate having a bottom surface and a top surface. The bottom surface is configured to matingly engage the tool rest surface. The top surface includes one of a flat surface and a surface having an angled V-shaped groove that is shaped and configured to receive a drill bit or and hold it at a fixed elevation and angle relative to the grinding surface. A slotted flange is normally attached to the tool-receiving plate, is configured to engage the slot with the tool rest fastener while the tool-receiving plate rests on the tool rest surface, and to abut the flange against the attachment surface to hold the attachment immobile during use.
