Abstract: A method and system for call setup with communication of supplemental call context information. A server receives a call request from a calling device, the call request seeking to set up a call between the calling device and a called device. Responsive to receiving the call request, the server obtains context information for the call, adds the obtained context information to the call request, and sends to the called device the call request including the added context information, for presentation of the context information by the called device as a supplement to caller identification information for the call. Further, the server then receives from the called device an acceptance of the call request and, in response, sets up the call between the calling device and the called device, to facilitate call communication between the calling device and the called device.
