Associations are created between a first application and a first installation scope. When the first application requires the presence of a second application within the isolation environment for proper execution, an image of the required second application is mounted onto a second installation scope and an association between the second application and the second installation scope is created. Another association is created between the first installation scope and the second installation scope, and this third association is created within a third installation scope. Each of the first, second, and third installation scopes are stored and the first application is launched into the defined isolation environment.

The stored metadata is used to respond to the at least one request.

A request by an application for access to a file is intercepted. The request is redirected to a first isolation environment. A determination is made that the requested file does not exist in the first isolation environment. The request is redirected to a second isolation environment responsive to a determination that the file is identified in an enumeration of a directory structure including a plurality of application files residing on a remote machine. The requested file is retrieved from a file server, responsive to a determination that the second isolation environment does not contain the file and that the file is identified in the enumeration.

Abstract: An orthopedic hinge joint mechanism for proteciton of unstable or injured knees. Four coacting members are rotably fastened each to the next in a series. The first and third members lie in one plane and the second and fourth lie in an adjacent parallel plane. The members in the same plane abut in gears. As a result of this construction the hinge moves symmetrically about its center and effectivley simulates the complex action of the human knee joint.

Abstract: A gas mixer for mixing two or more gases of different quantities and physical characteristics includes a gas inlet chamber and a gas mixing chamber in gaseous communication with the gas inlet chamber. Pairs of gas inlet ducts face one another across the gas inlet chamber so that the gas streams emitting from the inlet ducts interfere causing intermingling of the gases. From the inlet chamber the gases flow downwardly into a mixing chamber. A clean air inlet duct extends across the mixing chamber. The clean air inlet duct has a longitudinal slot with a cusp shaped baffle disposed in the slot. Clean air exits the clean air inlet duct through the slot past the baffle and into the gas mixing chamber where it mixes with the gases from the inlet chamber. The mixture of gas then flows out of the mixing chamber, past rectifying vanes which change the gas flow from turbulent to laminar, and into an exhaust duct.
