    Abstract: A connector for electrically connecting to conductive structures formed on a semiconductor device includes a core including an isolation layer and signal vias and ground vias formed in the isolation layer; a first ground plane formed on a surface of or in the core and electrically connected to the ground vias; a first set of contact elements formed on a first surface of the core and electrically connected to the signal vias to form signal pins; a second set of contact elements formed on the first surface and electrically connected to a subset of the ground vias to form ground pins. The remaining ground vias without contact elements form buried ground vias. The first and second sets of contact elements are arranged on the first surface of the core to surround each signal pin by at least one adjacent ground pin and one or more adjacent buried ground vias.

    Abstract: A method for measuring nonlinear Electromagnetic (EM) radiation emitted by a material, comprising rotating a beam of EM radiation to form a rotating beam; irradiating a surface of a material with the rotating beam at an oblique angle with respect to the surface, wherein the rotating irradiates a plurality of scattering planes in the material; and detecting nonlinear radiation emitted by the material in response to the rotating beam, such that the nonlinear radiation generated by each of the scattering planes is detected by the detector. This method opens the possibility of applying nonlinear optics as a probe of lattice and electronic symmetries on small bulk single crystals in ultra low temperature, high magnetic field or high pressure environments, which can greatly complement diffraction based techniques.

The electrostatic chuck assembly has a wafer holding member for holding a wafer; a shadow ring in engagement with the wafer holding member; and an insert ring disposed between the shadow ring and the wafer holding member. The wafer holding member has a wafer mounting surface and may preferably have a conical head having a tapered peripheral wall and a cylindrical portion. Alternatively, the wafer holding member is cylindrical and extends downwardly from the wafer mounting surface. The insert ring has an inner wall for sealably engaging the wafer holding member and preferably, is removable to allow for easy cleaning of the electrostatic chuck assembly.
