  • Publication number: 20070211053
Abstract: The present invention is a system that grids original data, maps the data at the grid locations to height values at corresponding landscape image pixel locations and renders the landscape pixels into a three-dimensional (3D) landscape image. The landscape pixels can have arbitrary shapes and can be augmented with additional 3D information from the original data, such as an offset providing additional information, or generated from processing of the original data, such as to alert when a threshold is exceeded, or added for other purposes such as to point out a feature. The pixels can also convey additional information from the original data using other pixel characteristics such as texture, color, transparency, etc.

  • Publication number: 20070211065
Abstract: This application describes a system that captures 3D geometry commands from a first 3D graphics process and stores them in a shared memory. A second 3D environment process creates a 3D display environment using a display and display hardware. A third process obtains the 3D commands and supplies them to the hardware to place 3D objects in the 3D environment. The result is a fused display environment where 3D objects are displayed along with other display elements. Input events in the environment are analyzed and mapped to the 3D graphics process or the environment where they affect corresponding processing.

  • Patent number: 7262724
Abstract: Techniques for adjusting the dynamic range of an A/D converter in response to various conditions are disclosed. A value output by the A/D converter is utilized to determine if the A/D converter is operating at or above its current dynamic range capabilities (i.e., the A/D converter is potentially “saturated” at its current dynamic range setting). If potentially saturated, the dynamic range of the A/D converter may be increased. If not, the dynamic range of the A/D converter may be decreased or may be unchanged. Alternately, an upcoming or enacted change in the gain settings of one or more gain stages that condition the analog signal input to an A/D converter may be used as a condition that results in an adjustment to the dynamic range of the A/D converter.

  • Publication number: 20070132165
Abstract: An extension fixture for combining the clamping capacity of a first and a second bar I-beam cross section bar clamp. The first and second bar clamps each have a fixed jaw, a movable jaw, and a primary bar. The movable jaw of each bar clamp has a clamping means configured to provide a clamping force in the direction of the fixed jaw. To use the bar clamps with the extension fixture, the movable jaw is removed from the first bar clamp, and the movable jaw orientation on the second bar clamp is reversed so that the clamping means is then configured to provide a clamping force away form the second fixed jaw. The first and second primary bars are then inserted into the extension fixture, and pinned and clamped in position. The assembly then forms a combined capacity bar clamp.

  • Publication number: 20070124382
Abstract: The present invention is a system that receives data in different formats from different devices/applications in the format native to the devices/applications and fuses the data into a common shared audio/video collaborative environment including a composite display showing the data from the different sources in different areas of the display and composite audio. The common environment is presented to users who can be at remote locations. The users are allowed to supply a control input for the different device data sources and the control input is mapped back to the source, thereby controlling the source. The location of the control input on the remote display is mapped to the storage area for that portion of the display and the control data is transmitted to the corresponding device/application.

  • Publication number: 20070115812
Abstract: A system for providing communications using sequence numbers for multiple quality of service (QoS) levels includes a first network device. The first network device receives a data packet and determines a QoS level for the data packet. The first network device also determines a sequence number for the data packet based on the QoS level. The first network device then marks the data packet with the sequence number. The system also may include a second network device. The second network device receives from the first network device the data packet marked with the sequence number based on the QoS level of the data packet. The second network device determines an expected sequence number window based on the QoS level of the data packet. The second network device then determines whether the sequence number of the data packet is within the expected sequence number window for the QoS level.

  • Publication number: 20070097874
Abstract: A network device that ensures network continuity includes a processor and a communications interface. The processor determines whether the network device is functioning properly. The processor then generates a signal indicating whether the network device is functioning properly and transmits the signal to the communications interface. The communications interface is coupled to the processor and a policy based routing system. The communications interface processes the signal to activate or deactivate a link to the policy based routing system.

  • Patent number: 7212522
Abstract: Communicating voice over a packet-switching network is implemented on a telecommunications network that includes the packet-switching network, two coding units coupled to the packet-switching network and to an originating node and a terminating node, respectively, and at least one signaling apparatus. The first of the two coding units is configured to extract signaling data associated with the voice call and transmit the signaling data and its network address to the signaling apparatus. Signaling data for establishing the voice call is received by the signaling apparatus, and a network address of the coding unit in the packet-switching network is obtained. The second coding unit is controlled to establish a bearer channel with the first coding unit for carrying the voice data through the packet-switching network, based on the network address.

  • Publication number: 20070051204
Abstract: Disclosed is a thin die adapted to be used in a press and a die press system utilizing the thin die and a die press, such as a platen die press or a roller die press. The die disclosed herein includes a base or backing portion that provides rigidity to the die assembly. The base includes an indentation defining a border around the peripheral edge of the base. A thin die is housed in the indentation of the base. The thin die is positioned in the indentation and adhered using an adhesive, such that the raised portions of the thin die are facing away from the indentation in the base. Ejection foam is adhered to the raised portion side of the thin die by an adhesive so that the ejection foam protects the raised portion of the thin die and ejects a cut shape out of the sheet material.

  • Publication number: 20070050475
Abstract: A network memory system comprises a first appliance and a second appliance. The first appliance receives data and determines whether a portion of the data is locally accessible to the second appliance. The first appliance generates an instruction based on the determination and transfers the instruction to the second appliance over a communication network. The second appliance receives the instruction from the first appliance over the communication network and processes the instruction to obtain the data. The second appliance then transfers the data to a computer.

  • Patent number: 7184730
Abstract: An automatic gain control system (100) and methods thereof for a receiver for providing a wide range of continuous gain control has been discussed. The AGC includes an input stage (120) for providing an indication of a strength of a received signal; an attenuator stage (107) operable to switch a fixed amount of attenuation for the received signal; a variable attenuator (109) to provide a variable amount of attenuation for said received signal, and a controller (135) responsive to said indication for providing a variable control signal (145) to the variable attenuator; wherein the controller concurrently changes the variable control signal to change in the opposite direction the variable amount of attenuation by approximately the fixed amount of attenuation whenever the attenuator stage is switched, thereby extending the range of continuous gain control beyond the range of the variable attenuator.

  • Publication number: 20070038816
Abstract: A first appliance for ensuring data integrity in network memory is disclosed. The first appliance includes a processor and a communications interface that communicates over a communication network with a second appliance of the network memory. The processor determines whether reconciliation between a first peer state information in the first appliance and a second peer state information in the second appliance is needed. The first peer state information and the second peer state information track the status of data in the network memory. The processor determines an action to reconcile the first peer state information with the second peer state information based on a positive determination that the reconciliation is needed. The processor then performs the action to reconcile the first peer state information with the second peer state information.
