  • Patent number: 11203554
Abstract: An anticaking agent having a coating and a mineral matrix of a coarse mineral and a fine mineral is described. A method of making the anticaking agent is disclosed, as well as a method of applying the anticaking agent to a hygroscopic fertilizer to reduce caking in high temperature and high humidity environments. The coarse mineral may be a diatomaceous earth.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 6, 2019
Date of Patent: December 21, 2021
    Assignee: IMERYS USA, INC.
Inventors: Arthur Latorre, Liege Biesuz, Leandro Rocha, David Ian Gittins

  • Patent number: 10015961
Abstract: A process for making microcapsules may include i) forming a solution of a cross-linker in a liquid; ii) forming a slurry of a surface-modified particulate inorganic material in an aqueous medium; and iii) dispersing the solution of step i) in the slurry of step ii) and causing or allowing the cross-linker to react with the surface-modified particulate inorganic material so as to form a cross-linked microcapsule wall.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 2015

  • Publication number: 20080287554
Abstract: A dispersion of a particulate inorganic material comprises a non-aqueous liquid medium containing a particulate inorganic material dispersed therein and an effective amount of one or more dispersing agent which serves to maintain the particulate inorganic material in dispersion in the non-aqueous medium, wherein the particulate inorganic material has an average particle size (d50) less than about 9 ?m, the particulate inorganic material is present in the non-aqueous medium in an amount greater than about 70% by weight of the dispersion and the viscosity of the dispersion is less than about 150 Pa·s measured at room temperature on a Bohlin rheometer using a 20 mm cone/plate at a shear rate of 1/sec. A substantially dry particulate inorganic material surface treated with the dispersing agent and optionally one or more hydrophobising surface treatment agent, and capable of forming the said dispersion, is a further feature of the invention.
