  • Patent number: 6030094
Abstract: The present invention provides a collapsible lantern including a base adapted to house a power source, and a telescoping portion movable, relative to the base, between an extended position and a collapsed position. The telescoping portion includes a light source electrically connected to the power source. A switch electrically connected between the power source and the light source interrupts the electrical connection between the power source and the light source when the telescoping portion is in the collapsed position.

  • Patent number: 5860729
Abstract: A lantern includes a fluorescent tube light and an auxiliary incandescent light. The incandescent light is covered by a colored lens. A control knob operates a switch in electrical connection with an electric power source, the fluorescent tube light, and the incandescent light, with the control knob being operable between a "first" or off position in which both lights are off, a "second" position in which the incandescent light is on and the fluorescent light is off, and a "third" position in which the incandescent light is off and the fluorescent light is on.

  • Patent number: 5586819
Abstract: A modular flashlight is formed from three parts which are screwed together--a battery housing, a switch housing, and a head. An O-ring at each screw connection provides a substantially watertight seal. A bulb is mounted in the switch housing and a reflector is mounted in the head. Rotation of the head relative to the switch housing varies the focus of the light reflected by the reflector. The head can be removed from the switch housing so that the bulb can provide candle illumination.

  • Patent number: 5541822
Abstract: A flashlight includes a body for holding a battery and a head which is pivotally mounted on the body. The body includes a pair of spaced-apart hinge portions, and a hinge portion of the head is positioned between the spaced-apart hinge portions and retained by a pivot pin. The head is pivotable between a first position in which the light beam from the head is parallel with the longutidnal axis of the body and a second position in which the light beam is perpendicular to the axis of the body. Detents on the pivot pin and on the head maintain the head in a selected position. A wire for maintaining electrical contact between a light in the head and the battery as the head pivots extends from the head through the pivot pin and into the body. A movable support clip on the body supports the body in a vertical position on a horizontal surface when the head is in the second position.

  • Patent number: 5365961
Abstract: A tent is provided with a ventilator opening in one corner thereof. The tent includes a pair of side panels which are secured together along a side seam and a top panel which is secured to the side panels along a top seam. One of the side panels is provided with an opening adjacent the top and side seams, and a screen covers the opening. A skirt is secured to the top and side seams and includes a free edge which is spaced from the screen. A stiffener is secured to the skirt adjacent the free edge thereof for maintaining the free edge away from the screen.

  • Patent number: 5293306
Abstract: A lantern having a base, a globe, and a top is provided with a slidable shutter which is movable between an open position in which light can shine through the globe throughout 360.degree. and a closed position in which the shutter blocks light from shining through a portion of the globe. The globe has a generally rectangular transverse cross section provided by a pair of generally flat front and back surfaces and a pair of generally flat side surfaces. The shutter is slidable within a pair of tracks which are provided by ribs which extend along the sides of the back surface. The shutter is releasably latched in the closed position by a pushbutton latch on the top of the lantern.

  • Patent number: 5017327
Abstract: A light includes an adjusting mechanism for focusing the light beam. The light includes a casing, a reflector mounted in the casing, and a piston housing mounted in the casing. A piston is slidably mounted in the piston housing and carries a bulb. A screw is rotatably mounted on the casing and is threadedly engaged with the piston. Rotation of the screw slides the piston and the bulb relative to the reflector to adjust the light beam.

  • Patent number: 4995154
Abstract: A nesting flatware set includes a knife, a fork, and a spoon. The knife and fork each include top and bottom end portions and dovetail locking portions which interfit to frictionally lock the knife and fork together. The spoon includes a bowl, a handle, and a pair of locking shoulders at the bottom end of the handle. The top and bottom end portions of the knife and fork are angularly related, and the knife and fork are frictionally locked against the spoon by inserting their bottom ends between the locking shoulders and the handle of the spoon so that the top ends of the knife and fork resiliently bear against the bowl of the spoon.
