  • Patent number: 7800538
Abstract: A power-combining system and method for generating a high-power coherent wavefront are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. The power-combining system comprises a combining-radiating assembly having a plurality of ports. Phase controllers generate signals with a predetermined phase shift for an associated one of the ports. Pluralities of coherent sources receive signals from an associated one of the phase controllers and to provide the signals to an associated port of the combining-radiating assembly with the predetermined phase shifts. Energy from the ports is coherently combined and radiated to provide a coherent high-power wavefront. In some embodiments, the combining-radiating assembly comprises a conductive patch having a plurality of ports spaced uniformly around the patch. In these embodiments, energy from the ports is coherently combined and radiated by the patch to provide the coherent high-power wavefront.

  • Patent number: 7629918
Abstract: An RFDE system includes an RFDE transmitter and at least one RFDE antenna. The RFDE transmitter and antenna direct high power electromagnetic energy towards a target sufficient to cause high energy damage or disruption of the target. The RFDE system further includes a targeting system for locating the target. The targeting system includes a radar transmitter and at least one radar antenna for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic energy to locate the target. The RFDE system also includes an antenna pointing system for aiming the at least one RFDE antenna at the target based on the location of the target as ascertained by the targeting system. Moreover, at least a portion of the radar transmitter or the at least one radar antenna is integrated within at least a portion of the RFDE transmitter or the at least one RFDE antenna.

  • Patent number: 7019640
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring a cargo container. The novel system (100) includes a sensor module (10) mounted in each target area (20) and a central monitoring system (40). Each sensor module (10) includes one or more sensors (22) and a transceiver (28) for transmitting data from the sensors to the central monitoring system (40). The central monitoring system (40) includes a transceiver (44) for receiving the data from all sensor modules (10) and a local master processor (46) for processing and analyzing the data. In the preferred embodiment, each transceiver (28) is capable of receiving and retransmitting signals of other sensor modules to relay signals of a particular sensor module (10) in a daisy chain fashion to and from the central monitoring system (40).
