Publication number: 20240123132Abstract: A drain cassette for a dialysis unit has a fluid channel between venous and arterial connection ports, and a valve may controllably open and close fluid communication between a drain outlet port and the venous connection port or the arterial connection port. A blood circuit assembly and drain cassette may be removable from the dialysis unit, e.g., by hand and without the use of tools. A blood circuit assembly may include a single, unitary member that defines portions of a pair of blood pumps, control valves, channels to accurately position flexible tubing for an occluder, an air trap support, and/or other portions of the assembly. A blood circuit assembly engagement device may assist with retaining a blood circuit assembly on the dialysis unit, and/or with removal of the assembly. An actuator may operate a retainer element and an ejector element that interact with the assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: DEKA Products Limited PartnershipInventors: Kevin L. Patent number: 8981905Abstract: An asset tracking technology wrings from a scan, event, location, and personal data in combination, immense mounds of useful information about the assets by interacting this information with Points of Data via cloud processing and analytics. The system tracks each asset at each location starting at its initial location and thereafter at each succeeding location, including time taken and steps involved as reported by each player in the supply chain. Each asset and each critical embedded component has a tag or mark that uniquely identifies it. Each tag is registered in a cloud-hosted database. Each sending and each receiving location will input the tag information with a scanner. This data flowing from the tracking model is transmitted to the cloud-hosted database for processing using Big Data Analytics techniques and artificial intelligence expert systems tools to determine the probably of a deviation from a normative established by the expert system based on the collected data.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2012Date of Patent: March 17, 2015Assignee: A2B Tracking Solutions, IncInventor: David J. Publication number: 20100077116Abstract: A software application that is installed in a commercially available processor, which application; identifies a keystroke data stream as derived from a code pattern, stores the pattern in system memory, validates the data stream, extracts user identified fields, adds prefixes and suffixes to the fields, and transmits identified fields to the processor operating system as a keystroke emulating data stream. The DOD UID code, and other similar codes, specifies a lead character or characters as a code identifier. When the application of this invention detects this code identifying lead character it directs the processor operating system to store the character and subsequent characters in the system memory rather than process them as entries from a keyboard. The application sets a timer as each character is received. As long as the timer does not time out, each successive character in the stream is treated as part of the code data until a code specified end of data character is detected.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2009Publication date: March 25, 2010Applicant: A2B Tracking Solutions, Inc.Inventors: David J. Patent number: 7639144Abstract: A system and method for validating adherence of an UII identifier code to one of several prescribed DOD codes by means of a programmed series of tests. First the code is tested for a prescribed header and a last character message. If one or the other is not found, the process stops and an error message is displayed. Field separator characters are identified that divide the message into fields. If the header, end of message character, and field separator are found and tested successfully, the program proceeds, and searches for an identifier of one of the DOD prescribed semantic formats. The semantic format identifier is extracted and tested. If valid, the process proceeds. If not, an error message is displayed. In proceeding, each field is stored, and the data from each field is extracted in accordance with the format identifier that had been extracted.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2006Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: a2b Trackin SolutionsInventors: Christos B. Patent number: 6352935Abstract: A method for capping active areas of a semiconductor wafer uses photolithography to define areas of sealant on the cap wafer to thereby reduce the amount of space required for attaching the cap wafer to the semiconductor wafer carrying active areas to be capped. Using photolithography in this manner increases the amount of space on the semiconductor wafer that can be used to form active areas which, in turn, improves the density of active area on the semiconductor wafer. In one embodiment, the method includes the steps of applying a photoimageable layer, photoimaging the photoimageable layer to define a pattern including remaining regions of the photoimageable layer and removed regions of the photoimageable layer, and using the pattern to define the sealant regions on the semiconductor wafer.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2000Date of Patent: March 5, 2002Assignee: Analog Devices, Inc.Inventors: David J. Patent number: 5668061Abstract: An improved back cut method is provided in a dicing procedure for separating a plurality of printheads formed in a silicon wafer. The wafer has alignment fiducial marks formed within a composite wafer. Infrared light is directed into the wafer and is reflected back through the wafer from the fiducial marks. The reflected light is detected by a CCD camera mounted on a dicing saw. The fiducial coordinates are stored in memory and displayed so that the dicing saw can be aligned with regard to the alignment marks. A back cut operation is enabled so that the saw partially cuts through the composite wafer. A subsequent dicing step separates individual printheads from the wafer.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1995Date of Patent: September 16, 1997Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Lawrence H. Patent number: 5545283Abstract: An apparatus and method for bonding wafer pairs. The apparatus includes a heated platen surrounded by a pressurization vessel. The heated platen includes channels connected to a hole which runs through the heated platen. Wafer pairs are placed on the top surface of the platen, a rubber mat is placed over the top of the wafer pairs, and a vacuum is drawn through the hole and the channels. The rubber mat compresses the wafer pairs. The platen is heated for the bonding process. The pressurization chamber is pressurized supplying additional bonding pressure to the wafer pair. Once sufficiently heated, the heated platen is liquid cooled completing the bonding process.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1995Date of Patent: August 13, 1996Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: David J. Patent number: 5368683Abstract: A plurality of ink jet printheads are produced from two aligned and bonded substrates by an improved fabrication method. The confronting surface of one of the substrates contains a plurality of linear arrays of heating elements and driver circuitry, and the confronting surface of the other substrate contains a plurality of sets of shallow channel recesses, reservoir recesses, and alignment openings. Prior to mating of the substrates, the substrate surface having the channel recesses is coated with a layer of thermosetting adhesive, and a thick film layer is deposited on the substrate surface having the heating elements and driver circuitry and patterned to provide a plurality of vias therein at predetermined locations. The vias expose the heating elements, provide ink bypass trenches, and provide a number of groupings of small pits.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 1993Date of Patent: November 29, 1994Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Robert P. Patent number: 4857819Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for connecting a static inverter to a free-running motor, wherein the inverter is supplied with D.C. power by a regulator-controlled rectifier. An oscillator connected to both the rectifier regulator and the inverter governs the frequency of the three-phase inverter output, while voltage feedback from the inverter output to the rectifier regulator is employed to establish a proper volts/hertz output characteristic in the inverter output waveform. During the connection process, a synchronizing circuit causes the oscillator to generate a high pulse rate signal which raises the inverter output frequency to a level above that associated with the rotational speed of the free-running motor. Simultaneously, the D.C. output of the rectifier is clamped by the current regulator to current-limit the inverter output. The inverter is subsequently connected to the free-running motor and the inverter output frequency is allowed to decrease gradually.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1981Date of Patent: August 15, 1989Assignee: Emerson Electric Co.Inventors: James Maurice, David J.
