  • Publication number: 20240164971
Abstract: An apparatus with a high coefficient friction pad and an inflatable base for use in connection with transfer and pressure management. The inflatable base has one or more low coefficient friction areas and has one or more high coefficient friction areas disposed thereon. The base has one or more chambers capable of being disposed in fluid communication with a source of fluid for inflating the base. Inflation of the one or more chambers causes the low coefficient friction areas to contact the surgical table and deflation of the base causes the low coefficient friction areas to be removed from contact with the surgical table and casuses the high coefficient friction areas to contact the surgical table.

  • Publication number: 20230015842
Abstract: The present invention provides a combined patient handling and surgical positioning system for use with a mechanical lift for positioning a patient on a surgical table. A pad assembly has a base with a top surface. The base has a plurality of handles attached thereto. The handles have openings defined therein. A foam top is fixedly mounted to the top surface of the base. At least one strap is attached to the pad assembly. The pad assembly is configured to prevent bunching when lifting or repositioning the patient during surgical table positioning changes required during surgery and the pad assembly is configured for movement in multiple directions during surgery. An elongate support member is configured to extend through the openings in the plurality of handles on the pad assembly. A plurality of lifting slings are configured to removably attach to the elongate support bar to the mechanical lift in a surgical theater.

  • Patent number: 11224550
Abstract: The apparatus of the present invention provides an apparatus for moving a patient on a pad and holding the pad in place on the surgical table. The disposable pad works in conjunction with the reusable patient lifting/moving base, allowing nurses to more readily and easily move patients on the table in order to facilitate surgical positioning. In another embodiment, the entire apparatus may be disposable. A pressure sensitive adhesive may hold the pad in place and prevent slippage between the pad and the top of the surgical table.

  • Publication number: 20220000692
Abstract: An apparatus for moving a patient on a pad and holding the pad in place on a surgical table. An upper member and a lower member having wings extending from opposite sides are configured and arranged to secure the position of the arms. In this position the arm has been securely wrapped without use of the patient's body weight, and the arm can be easily unwrapped by reversing the steps above, without the necessity of repositioning the patient (to get their body weight off of the device or a draw sheet), for access to the arm during the surgical procedure. Access may be necessary for anesthesia monitoring lines, invasive arterial lines, non-invasive blood pressure cuffs, SPO2 finger probes, and intravenous lines needed for medications and fluid delivery.

  • Publication number: 20210106480
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for moving a patient on a pad and holding the pad in place on a an anterior hip table or a standard surgical table. The pad works in conjunction with the reusable patient lifting/moving base, allowing nurses to more readily and easily move patients on the table in order to facilitate surgical positioning. The pad may also be used in combination with a post overlay to prevent injuries to the genital area of the patient.
