    Abstract: A medial ankle pad is provided for the medial side of the leg, ankle and foot. A lateral ankle pad is provided for the lateral side of the leg, ankle and foot. The pads are worn individually and/or together as a method of treatment for venous diseases. The pads are held in place by a constant pressure stocking, a gradient pressure stocking and/or by means of tape. The pads, placed under a pressure gradient stocking, apply even pressure to the skin around the ankle.

    Abstract: An orthotic joint comprising a first member, a second member and an intermediate plastic member secured together by a pivot. The second member includes a cam follower affixed thereto. The first member and intermediate plastic member include first and second arcuate slots respectively. The first and second arcuate slots are aligned. The first and second members are rotatable with respect to each other. The cam follower protrudes through the second slot and into the first slot. The range of motion is determined by the length of the slot relative to the size of the cam follower.

    Abstract: An orthopedic hinge joint mechanism to maintain knee stability and to protect the unstable and injured knee. Said hinge is comprised of two upright members articulating with two additional offset linkage pieces. This system is utilized separately or in conjunction to provide limited and controlled motion in the anatomical sagittal and frontal planes. It is covered with a flexible tubing and appropriately affixed to one or both sides of the affected limb to resolve instability of the knee due to ligamentous rupture or laxity.
